This bike is a solid performer... The gears operate flawlessly- though you may need to adjust your derailers.. Youtube has some great videos on how to do this... I guess it all depends on who put your bike together if it is setup well or just put together.... I think thats the main differences with good reviews and bad... I have done some things to my bike to fit me better... I ride mostly on pavement so I put on some Continental Country tires... 700-44mm... 700 series size tires fit 29ers. Put a Serfas gel suspensionseat on... It matches the bike well and is very comfortable. Overall I am now very satisfied with the bike... I was thinking of taking it back at one point bc the factory tires are for offroad.. The rolling resistance is high and it will work you out. My feelings towards bikes are- there cant be to much difference between a expensive bike and inexpensive... The frames are usually the same if it is aluminum... THe big difference is the components on the expensive bikes.. And for most of us- these simple components work well.

The components on this bike are too delicate for off-roading. It's really just a street bike with oversized, knobby tires. I crushed bearings and stripped the crank on Beginner Trails, and I'm an old dude. It looks nice and would be okay for pavement, I am just really disappointed it is (mis-)represented as a"Mountain Bike".

I can't say enough about how much I like this bike! It's tough. It looks good in white, so I can't even imagine what it looks like in other colors. I use this bike for daily driving and it works excellent for that task. While this bike is excellent, I have only had a few issues with it. Item One: The kickstand. The original kickstand that came on the bike failed almost in an explosive manner. Customer Service worked very well with me considering that this is a relatively new model and they sent me the wrong kickstand the first time. With a few phone calls and getting a supervisor involved, they sent me the correct kickstand. Item Two: Rear Brakes. The pads are to small for such a massive wheel. I went to my local bike shop and got larger, heavier duty pads. The originals wore out within 20 miles. This was not a huge deal. My Bike Shop Guy said that painted wheels can sometimes wear out brakes faster until the paint breaks down enough to be almost smooth as the metal surface. Item Three: Front Deraileur. I am still trying to get this to adjust so I can put the bike into third (high) range. I do not need that range, but it would be nice to have it for long flat ranges. Considering the price point of this bike compared to others on the market, I can deal with these few small issues.

    The Range Rover Bike

This bike is hands down the best bike I have ever owned. I've had it about 6 months now and I haven't had a single problem with it at all. The seat is slightly uncomfortable for long rides, but it really isn't that big of a deal. Me and my friends call this the Range Rover bike because it has such thick, massive knobby tires that allow for traction and are puncture-resistant and high ground clearance that it can go over anything with ease. Dirt may as well be pavement and thick, tall grass is a joke to this bike. Aside from the amazing durability and ability to go ANYWHERE on it, it is also a really cool looking bike. Right when you get it, its massive presence and cool styling make people look. Also, if you put a fender on the back of the bike, it looks like a giant dirt bike. So, all in all, buying this bike is the best $200 you can spend.

    Great Value in a 29er

Purchased the white colored two niner bike at my Wal-Mart store last week. Took it to an Local Bike Shop to get adjustments to disk brake, hubs geased, etc. for $40.00. Money well spent, as they adjusted alot of things on the bike from the factory setting, as well as adjusted the seat height to ensure a good fit. Took it out last weekend on a 20 mile ride and it performed nearly perfect. Several folks were amazed at the quality and especially for the price. If you want to get into trail riding and mountain biking but don't have $500.00 or more to spend on a 29er, then this one is for you.
