    I have read book after book on diet and weight loss, but this book is different than any other. Written by the Harvard School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School, this book provides the an incredibly complete and well-supported explanation of what to eat and why. The book's conclusions are based on decades of research and hundreds of scientific studies from around the world. The authors are true experts who have devoted their professional lives to understanding human health - not some joker trying to get rich by hyping the latest dieting fad. The book examines many of the most popular diet fads and discusses what is right and wrong with them. The conclusions are simple - the "secret" to losing weight is not a secret - you have to burn more calories than you take in. No gimmicks, no fads, just clear, plain-language explanations of the best scientific evidence, interpreted by some of the top experts in the field, and explained in everyday language.
