    • A. Yes the old typy coaster brakes where you push the pedal backwards. No hand brakes.

    • A. The pedals are also the brakes - you push BACK on them. It is awkward at first if you are used to hand-brakes, but it will become natural quickly. They aren't as harsh as hand-brakes - you have to brake a little more gradually. No 'slamming' on the brakes.

    • A. It's a foot brake - so you have to pedal backwards to stop it. But it works great.

    • A. There is a foot brake. So, you would need to "back peddle".

    • A. I doubt it. I'm 5'4" and it's just right for me. To make is a bit lower, I actually removed the reflector from under the seat and have it as low as it can go. At your height you may want to try the girl's 24" bike. It should fit you perfectly, and it is quite a nice bike.

Last year I bought this bike in the light blue of the 2009 edition and it was a great bike. It was very durable and had a cool retro look. It lasted well til someone ran over it when I was in a crosswalk. Even then the paint didn't even really chip. The body just got all bent up. So, I bought this bike in the Magenta pink color that they had on the website and had it sent site to store. I got it today from my local wal mart where they assembled it and it is awesome. I peeled off the stickers because stickers on a bike are the worst idea ever. Also, I would like to note that the colors online are always different than the actual product. For example this mint green looks really pretty online but in the store is a muddy color. Not quite the stick of gum color they show, it has more of a brown tone. Also, my bike online look like a hotter bright pink but in life it is a dark sparkly magenta. All in all these bikes are great, they are a good price and they last well. My last one endured riding every single day all through out a big city and I even took it on trails, which if you do that they will require a lot of leg muscle because they are one speed bikes. Also, it was outside during periods of down pour rain, freezing winters, and snow and it hardly got any bits of rust. Oh one more thing, I would recommend installing the gel goo tire tubes that seal themselves since the tire tubes that come with the bikes aren't very durable but the gel ones last forever and then you never have to worry about a thorn or something getting stuck in your tire and stopping you.

This bike is both cute and affordable, and I love it. I love the color (the actual color is kind of a muddy green and cream color-- not the bright blue you see on the website), the style is great and kind of retro, and I like how durable it feels-- its a pretty hefty bike. It's a great bike for just going out, running errands and taking a leisurely cruise. The tires are big and thick and look reliable. Keep in mind though, its a one speed bike, and its great for flat terrain but you're going to need some power if you're ever faced with an up-hill ride. The saddle is a little uncomfortable, so it might be a good idea to replace it. Handle brakes would have been nice, since I get a little uneasy if I ever try to stop and get off the bike at the same time. It doesn't have anything fancy like the seat rack on the back or a basket-- so its the bare minimum of a bike, but that leaves room for customization and I intend to get accessories for it. Overall though, I really love it! It's gotten me outside and enjoying the summer weather and its given me a bit of exercise. I haven't been on a bike in years and riding this has really brought back memories and given me a chance to cruise the city in style. I'd recommend it to anyone who's just looking for a good, stylish, basic leisure bike to ride around the neighborhood.

I love the laidback, retro look of this bike. I've used it a few time now and its a quality bike, can't beat the price either! It definitly does not look cheap (even if the price says otherwise). Main color is a shimmery pale mint (leans more blue than green) with cream details. The seat is brown (faux?) leather - wide and comfy! No gears but has fenders. Overall, I'm pleased with this bike.

Exception experience, Great price, Fast Fed Ex shipping. S R loves her new bike. The only issue is that the bike box was inserted in a larger box with no description on the outside. The Huffy bike box is labeled up vertical only - do not lay on its side. It was delivered laying on its side. Some screws & nuts were floating around in the box and the fender was bent from not keeping upright.

The bike came in great condition, and rides very smoothly. For assembling the bike it was very self explanatory and you will need a allen wrench, and adjustable wrench. The only thing is the seat isn't very sturdy and after awhile it becomes squeaky.
