What's a Tablet PC?

Tablet PCs are compact, ultra-portable entertainment devices that let you read email, surf the internet, read eBooks, view photos, play games, listen to music and watch video files. Most tablets are based on a smaller operating system, which allows you to purchase and download additional applications from supported stores. Tablet PCs do not have a CD/DVD drive and will not run Microsoft Windows or its applications. Tablet PCs function as a secondary device for casual entertainment purposes, and are not meant to replace a computer. They are ideal for use around the home and on the go with WiFi or 3-4g mobile broadband connections (pay as you go, contract may be required for service).

This is my third tablet, after an Asus Transformer and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, and for $99 dollars it is pretty nice, but has some issues. First of all it recharges through a micro USB port which is great, but it's thicker than most and the tablet won't recharge with every other cable I've tried, which is an annoying and serious oversight in my opinion. The touch screen is less responsive than most, but not intolerable. There is no swype input stock or screen rotate, so you'll want to download those. (Kii keyboard is great) Battery life is under 5 hrs, and it will die quickly in standby unless it's powered off, but this tablet is only $99! If you've never had another tablet before you won't miss anything, and it would be great for kids. I'd give it four stars considering the value, but I find the charging cable issue very irksome.

I bought two of these for my two small children (4&5) so they would stay off my cell phone. They already had an Innotab but the games are so expensive and they get bored quick with the couple they have so I wanted a better option. So we bought these and they work great for them. Personally I would not want it for myself but for the kids they are perfect. I installed parental controls to limit what they could access. I was looking forward to using them on long car rides but the battery died in about 3 hours and weren't able to charge with my current micro usb charger. I just sent a quick email to support and they stated it was because I needed a 2AMP charger so I purchased one and it worked perfect. So now everyone is happy and my phone is not dissapearing when I turn my back!

This is the best tab you'll get for the money. I bought a Nextbook (big mistake) based on the price and it was terrible. I would definately spend a bit extra and buy the Hisense Sero 7 Pro. I ended up returning the nextbook because the quality was fairly poor, Difficult to see the screen at angles or outside in the middle of the day when display was at 100% brightness (because the sun is too bright), battery life was only 2-3 hours, and the screen resolution was way worse than the Hisense 7 pro, Netflix would also pause a couple seconds every minute. Trust me, spend a bit extra and buy the Hisense Sero Pro 7. It’s perfect as a mainstream tablet for the type of person that doesn't need the latest and greatest, but just a really good tablet. I haven’t had any problems with the battery (you'll get about 6-9 hours of heavy to light use out of it), Netflix (runs and looks great), browsing (very fast), or anything. The only complaint is that sometimes the power button doesn’t recognize when I hit the power button and I have to hit it again, but that’s the only thing I have to complain about the Hisense Sero 7 Pro.

Some good, some bad

Okay. I bought this for my wife to watch Netflix and Hulu. It does those apps perfectly. It also runs some games ( My Horse) for my kids pretty well with good graphics. The gyroscope didn't work out of the box, but after downloading a autorotate app from Google Play, it works fine. It seems a bit heavy for a 7" app, but still lighter than a 10" iPad. It only has a front-facing .3 MP camera, so keep that in mind as well. The unit gets warm, but not hot when holding it. It is a bit thicker than expected, but not cumbersome. The big downfall here is out of the box battery life. The battery drains when on standby (the screen off, but not the power). I am used to my iPad keeping battery life when it goes to sleep. I would venture to say the battery life is about 2.5-3.5 hrs of continuous use. That's not that great when the iPad gets 9-10 and Galaxy Tab is estimated at 6-7. At one point, when my kids were playing a game, it was as if I could see the battery as it was draining. The good thing about Android is that there are a lot of Battery saver apps out there, so I am going to try them out before I return the tablet due to the battery issue. If you're not too worried about battery life, the processor, OS, and resolution justify this purchase. Summary: I really like the price and features of the tablet, but I am very disconcerted with the battery life.

few years ago this thing would be pretty awesome for $79. but now its just pretty decent. i purchased a generic 7" android tablet off ebay last christmas and its very similar, but walmart must of used its buying power to get a slightly higher-res screen and slightly faster processor. good: the screen looks nice enough, it has google play so you can get any app, battery life seems decent, the price is maybe the best thing, it has android 4.1, it plays youtube/netflix very smooth bad: screen is made to be looked at in the horizontal position, not every will notice this though. holding it like shown in the picture makes the screen go out of its ideal viewing angle, look at your lcd tv from too far above or below it to see the same thing. wifi not the strongest, touch screen not as responsive as my phone, after installing a few apps its starting to slow down, does not auto rotate until you download a free app (why!?) seriously why.. maybe related to my comment above? mine has an issues where it constantly thinks im plugging/unplugging the charger while its plugged in. overall its nice for $79, wish it was $49

Probably the best sub $100 tablet on the market
8/16/2013

Customer review by Philipusernameforwalmart

My daughter has been saving her chore money for several months to buy a tablet, she's 5, and I'm very proud of her restraint in saving. So needless to say, I researched heavily to find a sub $100 tablet for her that wasn't a waste of her hard earned cash (her 7yr old sister blew all she's made, so I'm hoping to encourage the idea of saving for something nice) I decided on the Hisense Sero 7 LT because of the processor speed, 1gb of ram and the microsd card expansion slot. It functions much better than I thought a $79 tablet would and am very satisfied with it performance. Wifi strength is nothing to brag about and the battery empties pretty quickly, but we can deal with those. Don't have exact numbers on battery life yet, but would guess at about 3 hours, I'll try to update that later. I was about to pull the trigger and order online when I was checking out a few last reviews and realized it was being sold at Wal-Mart. So I drove down to my local store and bought it for $79.99 + $7 for a 2 year replacement plan (more on that later). It did some funny things during initial setup, but I think it just has a funky setup routine. It looks great, touch screen works nicely & I download all of my kids apps from my google account to it easily. The only apps that weren't compatible were the ones that needed a 3d rendering video chip. It has a full google play app & currently runs Android 4.1. Only has a selfie camera at very low resolution and its on the top left corner which made it very hard to find a case that would secure the tablet, but not cover the camera (she's 5 remember, case a must) Things were great until 1 day into it I showed her that when we get out of the car you put the tablet between the door and the seat so it's not laying out in the back seat tempting someone to break my window for a $79 tablet. Well, long story short, when I closed the door, the clearance in the back seat isn't like the drivers & I broke her screen. Took it back to Wal-Mart & they swapped it right out (15 minutes in and out the door), reinstalled everything & runs great again. (So that's pointing out I've used 2 of them & they consistently work well). I guess that one of the ways they save money on the tablet is in the glass. I've got an Asus Transformer tablet with Gorilla glass & it cost MUCH more than my daughter's & I would have to guess some of that went to a superior glass. I've ordered a screen protector to help protect it from the inevitable drops & falls, but the best investment was the 2 year replacement plan. Not to plug Wal-Mart too much, but it sure was handy to just swap it out and not have to ship it off and wait for weeks to get it back.

This is my third tablet and also the lowest cost one. And, by far the best one I have had yet. My previous two tablets each lasted approximately 6 mos be for something broke. I love that it has the Google Play. I am able to use just about every app that is on my smart phone here. that is the only reason I cannot give it a five star of expectations. overall, it is a very good product for the price you pay. I would recommend this.

Works well and does what I bought it to do which is run educational games for my kids. The processor is a little sloe but that is expected for the price. Battery last a good amount of time and charges quickly. Great product for the price.

I just purchased this tablet and I must say for the money, it's a good buy. Touch screen is pretty good. It is not as smooth as my Kindle Fire, but it works fine. I love the fact that is is pre-loaded with Chrome. I had no trouble with it finding wifi and surfing the net is a breeze. I was also able to charge it with my Kindle Fire charger, so that's a plus. After just getting to know it, I did notice the battery seems to go down a little faster than I want, but hey, I only spent $79 on it. If you want a nice tablet for the price, I feel like you won't be disappointed.
