I purchased this camera for 20+ megapixels after using a competitor's that was given to me. I haven't explored all of the functions, but I really like the in-camera cropping. The picture does get noisy/grainy when zooming/low light, but all of my other cameras do it. Switching from HD to SD display is a welcome feature as a battery saver. Being able to use "regular" AA batteries like my other ones means no looking for the nearest outlet. It is a great beginner camera and should be seen as such. I look forward to using the advanced functions in the near future. The buttons and menu are very user-friendly (to me anyway). I don't miss the viewfinder as I never used it (think phone camera). I do have a few very minor cons. The lens cap comes off a little too easily and the body strap should be hardier. It doesn't like "cheap" SD cards. The proprietary cable is akin to A****'s cabling scheme; a micro-USB interface would have been welcomed. Short of another great sale, I will be using this camera for everything!

very good camera! The only 2 bad things is that the lens cover come off very easy & the manual book isnt very good telling you about the camera. But besides that its all good! we took family pictures with it & everyone was asking who did them & when we told the we did, they could believe it. Would recommend the camera to anyone!

I purchased a reconditioned model from Sony for an overseas vacation. I am, at best, a casual user. The save speed is a tad slower than my older FujiFilm. It took so long one time that I thought that I missed the shot, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it non-blurred on the screen. I thought that I might miss the viewfinder, but the screen (with changeable resolution) is very nice. I took over 600 pictures (mostly non-flash and screen dimmed) and it barely made a dent on my Eneloop 2100 batteries. I have the same ones (only a top off done once) and still have more than 3/4 life on them. The body is solid and hefty. Low-light/no flash pictures are very noisy (Flamenco picture). Our group was in a very dark vineyard and our iPad Minis took better no-flash pictures than my Sony and our group leader's Canon DSLR as well. The panoramic function is a plus! subsequently used the Sony at a family reunion to filter our red t-shirts. We had a Nikon 3200, but it is too much camera for us. Like my Fujifilm, AA batteries are great instead of looking for a charger. The image stabilization is on par with my iPhone 6 Plus. This is a great bridge camera that I plan on using for some time to come!

The DSC-H200 is a beautiful camera at a competitive price. I've been using this snapper for nearly a month now, and I don't regret the purchase one bit. * Upgrading from a simple point-and-shoot, this camera has allowed me some creative freeway with my shots. Although a bit gimmicky, the "creative modes" such as limit colour and toy camera are a fun way to make yourself try something new and unique. The zoom lens and manual mode allow you to get the exactly the shot you want. * I don't know what kind of black magic Sony uses for the Optical SteadyShot (OSS) feature, but it works really well. Even if you're zoomed all the way, as long as you're focused on something OSS kicks in and cancels the jitter. It's pretty amazing. * There are some downsides though. Low light performance is pretty poor, with shots often looking grainy sometimes unusable. The Advanced Flash features tries to resolve this, but automatically knocks the resolution down to 5MP. * My other minor complaint is that the lens cap that comes with the unit fits very loosely. I'm not sure if it's only my unit, but I always feel like the cap will pop-off by itself and leave my device un-protected. * Overall I'm quite happy with the product. I would recommend it to others.
