Review by Library Journal (2013-01-01)

Kane is primarily known for romances, but this title is the second in a series of suspense novels. The debut volume, The Girl Who Disappeared Twice, introduced a team of experts who work inside and outside the boundaries of the law. The business, Forensic Instincts, includes a former Navy SEAL, ex-FBI agents, a psychic, and a bloodhound. Listeners would benefit from approaching the series in order, but there's enough backstory to fill in many of the blanks.

Narrator James Colby does an excellent job of portraying many different male and female characters. The plot, which involves finding a missing father who may be the best chance of a medical donor for his dying infant, is engaging, but the story's pacing is slow until almost the very end.

Verdict: Purchase as demand warrants for thriller and suspense collections.
