My kids have been kicking the liner when swimming under water and we have no problems. They also hang on the top rail a bit too.

Yes, I always hold onto the sides to kick and lounge. My three kids push off sometimes while playing mermaid and it is fine.

Please do not kick or hang on poles doing so can cause pool to collapse or can cause injuries.

42 inches. My 3 year old can stand in it easily.

42" is Three #3# feet Six #6# inches. That's Six #6# inches longer than a Standard Yard Stick and/or as long as 3 & 1/2 Standard 12 inch notebook rulers.
Assuming you don't have a tape measure, yard stick or ruler then you can estimate depth by having your Child stand next to your kitchen counter, stove, dishwasher, washing machine, they are all basically industry standard height of 36 inches which equals One #1# yard.
Pool is Six inches higher than your kitchen counter tops. To visualize total of 42 inches for height, place a Can a Soup on top of counter top then have your child stand next to same, if top of the soup can isn't under their Chin or lower, I personally would say 42 inches deep is not appropriate for a Child so short and would only allow them in pool with a life jacket.
Pool is appropriate Depth for Adults and/or Children, deep enough an adult to swim without the stoke of their arms touching bottom, yet shallow enough for 8 yrs and up to stand up without water going in their mouth either on their tip-toes if short or flat footed if average height.
Average height 11 yr old depth falls below arm-pit, about same area as the bottom of Bra would ride.
I assume you didn't have a tape measure and replied accordingly, giving examples of height/Depth.

I have an 8 year old and when the pool is filled to capacity, it is right under his shoulders. I am 5'7" and when the pool is full, it goes to right above my hip bone. Sorry I don't have an exact measurement. LOL

I purchased this pool to replace just a couple pieces on the one I have had for 3 years it got a little beat up in a storm after leaving in up all winter. My family really enjoys the pool on almost a daily basis.

Easy set up, only took 2 of us. Happy that I can attach my vacuum to the pool.  Blue liner is better than my previous whir one. Happy so far.

took 2 adults and 2 kids to put this pool up in about an hour. easy assembly. took about 25 hours to fill. my son was the first in. we are going to have so much fun. wish we had put it up first week of summer vacation!

18 foot pool

Love it! After 3 years its still tough. Every summer we put it up every summer and I wr take it down.  Easy to build with 2 people.  Easy to clean if you keep that maintain it would last very long. With 3 boys in the house and all still strong. I would definitely recommend it.

3 years and counting

This pool is a good one for the price.  Set up was fairly easy. My daughter and I were able to set it up. A third person would have been a plus but we were able to complete the task. 
The pool is great for kids and adults. 
The pool pump is nice and quite. We can not hear it inside the house. All of the parts were in the boxes as well as a few extras. 
I would recommend this pool as a good value and great summer fun.

Great little pool.

We just purchased this item this year, and absolutely love it and wish we would of bought it sooner!  took about 1/2 hour to set up with 3 people...the shipping company couldn't make it to my home (came in a tractor trailer) so had to go up the road to get it. just wish the vacuum hose came with it but hey its all good! very happy! and do recommend!

18x42 pool

I'm so glad we bought this pool!  My 3 girls love it! We almost got a guick set ring pool but wasn't sure if that would work for our family because our kids are older. Perfect for the price ($209)

Great pool!

Of course box was heavy but not to large. Had great help from staff when picking up at nearest Wal-Mart. Set up took us longer with only 2 people and putting several layers of tarps beneath for protection. Whole kit was complete, nothing missing or broken.  Great price for the pool with deluxe kit (pump, cover, etc.). Very satisfied!

Summer waves 18'pool

First of all, I purchased the above item at a reduced price, it was quite a savings.  Every item was received in good condition.  It was assembled easily, and the children are now enjoying it.   It was also,  delivered on the expected delivery date.    Great product,  and  great service.

Above Ground Swimming Pool

Good value for the price. Not overly difficult to set up. We used our own salt water filter system so it'd be nice to have option to purchase without filter.

This pool in description says metal walled and 18'X48". Get the pool and it's a regular metal frame not metal walled and it's 18'X42" not 18'X48". It's going back!
     I had a 17'X48" pool from the same company and after 5 good years it's getting leaks and time to get a new one. But I don't want shorter!
