About this item

"Batman Begins" explores the origins of the "Batman" legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: 'Batman', a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city. "The Dark Knight": With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves effective, but soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker (Heath Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces Batman closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante. "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

The Dark knight film trilogy follows only Lethal Weapon as my favorite series. So I decided to purchase The Dark Knight Trilogy instead of just The Dark Knight Rises alone, even though I own multiple copies of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight already, I had to own the trilogy boxset. I am glad to finally own the special features to The Dark Knight as they have evaded me twice(my dvd copy don't have them and my blu ray copy's special feature disc is twice as thick as it should be and only makes grinding noises when put in a player). I love this boxset, the added book on the making of the trilogy was appreciated, but I do have two small complaints, the contents of box are tightly packed and hard to get out, and I don't quite like the layout of the discs as I worry about damaging the special feature discs when removing them. An overall great buy that I highly recommend over the solo copy of The Dark Knight Rises on blu ray as it gives you so much more for only a few bucks more.

  • Many of the answers here are incorrect. An Ultraviolet copy of a movie allows you to stream the movie directly from a source (Vudu/Flixter) in the same quality in which it was purchased. So if you buy The Dark Knight Rises on Blu-ray, you can watch the HD version (or HDX version) for free on a connected device such as a Roku box, PS3, Xbox, or anything else that offers streaming through Vudu. Movies are stored "In the Cloud," meaning you don't actually download them and it doesn't use up your hard drive. It's like streaming from Netflix and it's always there when you want it. THERE ARE NO SUBSCRIPTION FEES OR ADDITIONAL COSTS WHATSOEVER. There's nothing to subscribe to. Once you've purchased the movie, it's yours to keep. You can rent or purchase additional titles on Vudu if you wish, and you do have to pay for those. But titles in your library (Ultraviolet copies) stay forever and are free. You do have to download vudu on a supported device (or stream from the website), but it is completely free.

  • UltraViolet is a cloud based movie service. You pay a subscription fee and then you can stream your movies from their servers anywhere you are over the internet. Your subscription pays for the service, you have to purchase movies and then register the UltraViolet key and then it will be available for you to stream.

  • Its like an instant download i believe...There is a paper with a code for the download in the package

  • Basically they give you a code which you use on a website called "flixter" you will need to make a free account. After you have the account you put the codes in for any ultra violet movies you have and you can now watch them from anywhere you have internet access by logging into your account and without needing to have the discs. It works on most computers, tablets, and smart phones. Does not work on gaming councils yet and only a few blu ray players.
