Rated 1 out of 5 by raidener bad design for plug
speaker sound is bad when playing xbox360 with hdmi. The poor design on the back for cable for coxial, there is not even enough room to try to twist the cable. geez..picture is exceptional and sound for tv is exceptional, but for gaming is bad.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Crazynfun2 awsome!!!
Bought this tv for our bedroom..was a little worried about sound from other reviews..but after owning it for myself I didn't see the problem..perfect for the bedroom! Great picture!
Rated 5 out of 5 by grlth great tv/dvd player all around
i bought this tv for our bedroom online. it came faster than i expected. the dvd player works and looks great. the sound is just ok but a quick and affordable fix was a maxell sound bar. plugs in with the head phone jack and you can use the tv remote. i plan on getting a 40" for the living room next. great value for a quality product. i recomend this tv for anyone.
Rated 2 out of 5 by DisappointedMom34 Stopped working after a week
I purchased this TV for my daughter's room. The sound quality wasn't the best, but it was fine for what she was using it for. A week after we started using it, the DVD player malfunctioned and the screen turned green. It wouldn't respond to any of the DVD function commands. We can't get the DVD out, so we have lost that as well. The store also wouldn't take it back, but Walmart.com refunded my money with no issue. I would not buy this brand or a TV DVD combo again.
Rated 4 out of 5 by sceptrefanman Awesome Value
have had it for a month now .. I love it .. as far as the sound complaints from other customers .. just get into the sound settings for the TV and u'll be just fine .. the bass frequency is not as good as the larger tv's but u can customize the sound to be more than adequate for this size of a unit
Rated 5 out of 5 by kim34543 DVD works great, great shipping
Son received as a surprise Christmas present for his room and he loves it, especially since it comes with a DVD player. You can change the setting of the view to wide, normal, zoom, etc.
Rated 5 out of 5 by PlushComfort Owesome TV
I bought this TV for my 9 yr old daughter. After getting everything connected I was shocked at the picture. For the brand, the picture on this TV is owesome. The other TVS in my house are all name brands and I'm excited to say this one comes in a pretty close second. Don't waste money on a 19in, this 24in is a perfect size for kids. The only disappointment I have is that the TV didn't pick up any channels without my Uverse system being connected to it. So she had to watch movies until I conntected the Uverse box.
Otherwise great buy, will probably buy one for myself in a bigger size.
Rated 3 out of 5 by garndpa193 Good TV for a kids room or small den.
I find this TV to be of good picture quality , but the sound quality leaves something to be desired.

Perfect as a Monitor or a tV for an extra bedroom. The shipping was extremely fast!
Rated 5 out of 5 by BekkaF I'm really enjoying my New Sceptre
My Sceptre TV was easy to set up and I'm really liking the HD movies. I also connected my Roku using HMDI to the TV; it connected with no problems. I found out you need to have a router that will work with HD if you are streaming; my old one didn't so I upgraded. I needed to any way to accommodate the growing devices and computers using wireless n. The picture is every bit as good as the picture on our very large LG in the family room. I will admit the sound wasn't the greatest and I didn't want to get stuck using the headphone jack on the TV for speakers. I was determined to have digital sound. The coaxial on our Sceptre TV is an output connector. So if you have a soundbar with a coaxial input, you are set to go (coaxial to coaxial) ; ) I was a little worried because the soundbar I really wanted, after listening to and testing out several different brands, had an optical input. A little research and a whole lot of reading later, I found out you can use a coaxial to optical adaptor & found one reasonably priced on Amazon. It has to be "coaxial to optical", not the other way around, for this connection to work. And this little adaptor did the job! Now I have fantastic sound too; sounds very close to sound around. I'm glad I purchased this TV.

After six weeks of viewing I"m very pleased with my purchase. I really would give it a score of 4.5 stars out of 5. The picture is great and the price is right. The DVD player is nice. The remote is sometimes a little quircky and some may find the sound a bit tinny. I added a couple of decent powered computer speakers and now the T.V. sound amazing. There may be better television/DVD combos out there, but I doubt you'll find one at this price.

Really a nice little TV/DVD combo. Good picture and sound quality. Bought 2 and glad I did.
Rated 4 out of 5 by AnAwesomePerson Great picture quality, horrible sound.
This is my first HDTV. The picture colors are almost spectacular because I can't get it to look like my previous TV, but then again, my old one was a tube TV, and I probably just got too accustomed to it's uncomplicated colors. I HIGHLY recommend everyone who buys this TV connects a stereo system to it because the speakers sound like they've been installed from some cheep portable DVD player (I haven't done too much adjusting because I planned on hooking up a stereo system ahead of time). The speakers are the biggest issue I have with it. The other problems are based on my opinion or are extremely unimportant, like the remote design isn't the most convenient. I have my PS3 and computer hooked up along with the speakers and was the best $200 (plus 4 year warranty and tax) I've ever spent!
Rated 5 out of 5 by greaterlevels This TV is for my son's bedroom. It fits great with the size of his room. After a few ajustments with color and sound, it works perfectly! He enjoys it and he's glad he picked this one.
Rated 3 out of 5 by sportsfan77 Remote Not Working
Remote works when 3 inches away from tv. Nothing obstructing. Very disappointed. Hard to connect cable cause of how the cable input is located. Returning for a better name model.

Bought a Sceptre 24" HDTV/DVD Player. After setup kept getting a white screen. Called Sceptre and he advised the TV was defective. Went back to Walmart (who made good on it) and exchanged it for a Vizio...much better brand with a brilliant picture. I would avoid this brand.
Rated 5 out of 5 by marsats Great Value
Bought 2 weeks ago. I got a 1080p 24 inch screen, wall mountable, with DVD player, all for 160 bucks. Picture and sound are great. All the right connections in back. Good quality machine. Unbeatable value.
Rated 4 out of 5 by sactko Nice.
Nice television, especially for the price. I mostly use it for workout dvd's. When I hook my laptop up to it, the colors are off some, which is not really an issue since that was not the purpose of my buying this TV. No regrets on this purchase.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Inmyopinion11 YIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEE!
The price is awesome for this 24" combo tv/dvr! The picture is awesome, the base assembly couldn't be more elementary, and did I mention the price!
My one kinda-sorta dislike is the audio...sometimes sounds like the audio is in a hallway?
This is a good deal for the price.
Rated 3 out of 5 by js0805 Ok..
The picture is great and the dvd player works well. Fair price and fast delivery! The only thing I was not happy with is the sound. I have a 24" RCA that I purchased at walmart also and it sounds 100 times better than this Sceptre! Being that the tv was purchased for my sons room and he doesn't mind the sound I wont be returning it.
Rated 4 out of 5 by SladetekFFXI Okay TV for the price.
I got this TV for my son's room. It has a good picture on it. There is some blur with fast movement. The DVD works well. Only real complaint is the sound. Sounds like a tin can. Even played with the audio settings, it helped some but still has poor sound. The other complaint is the bracket support on the bad had a bad thread on it and wouldn't let the screw all the way in.

THE TV WAS WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR. IT HAS A BUILT IN DVD PLAYER. WE USE IT WHEN WE GO CAMPING AND ALSO IN SPARE BEDROOM. THE SOUND WAS GOOD FOR ROOMS WE USE IT IN AND HAS EXCELLENT PICTURE. IT ALSO CAN BE HOOK TO ANTENNA WHICH WE HAVE IN TRAVEL TRAILER. MET ALL OUR EXPECTATIONS.
Rated 1 out of 5 by jsupermom123 Do not get this!
Had a bad feeling right from the start. The box was very crushed. Ok for sturdier items, not for electronics! My husband hooked everything up and messed with the color for over an hour. The screen had rainbow stripes of color. He was finally able to adjust it to black and white, but the rainbow was still there. We have a feeling something was carelessly damaged it transit. So disappointing! Very hesitant to ever try this brand again, and won't ever use site to store delivery on anything electronic.
Rated 5 out of 5 by aliechty Great TV for my 4 year olds room
We bought a house and moved my 4 year old son into his own bedroom. He was used to going to sleep with a TV, so I bought this one. I wanted something that had a built in DVD player. So far it's been awesome. He picks a movie to watch and we set a sleep timer. I did read reviews before purchasing, so I knew it had to be on DVD mode to take the DVD. I also knew the sound would be a little off, and it is. But for a 4 year old it works great.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cindy1003 great picture for the money
Love the dvd on the side, use it for work (I work at home ) so I use the dvd for training as well. Great product for the money. I looked around for awhile before I found that this was the best value. I never saw a preview of the picture and was not disappointed with the picture quality at all.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Ranpinc Poor sound quality
Picture was OK but the sound was horrible. It would not even accept a sound bar to improve the terrible volume. Would not recommend to anyone unless you're only going to use it with close caption.
Rated 2 out of 5 by HimmlischeFrau Extremely poor sound
I have two 40" Sceptre TV's which are great but this one is a big disappointment. The sound is truly dreadful and when entering information in the "search" menu there is a very annoying voice which reads everything one has entered out loud! I am returning the TV.
Rated 4 out of 5 Affordable TV
I just bought mine and it works great. The sound is a little "Faded" and sounds like it is being muffled but if you tweak the settings such as bass, trebble, etc it sounds passable. I bought it upgrading from a 20" FAT tv, so it is real nice in my room. I like that the DVD player is built in.
It has some faults such as taking F-O-R-E-V-E-R to program and then the sound problem. But ignoring those two problems (which I was able to fix mostly) I'd give it a 7/10
Rated 5 out of 5 by ladyshopper17821 GREAT TV FOR THE PRICE..
I bought this TV for my kitchen. Fits perfectly on the counter. Glad I did not go smaller. It is a GREAT TV for the price I paid. $149 @ walmart.com.
Rated 4 out of 5 by HechoenChina Great TV/DVD combo but don't expect good sound
Okay, you've read lots of poor reviews on the sound quality. Out of the box, the sound is horrible. I went into the menu and adjusted sound settings and even adjusted the equalizer. After all that, the sound went from horrible to fair/poor. I bought this tv because of price not to get Bose quality sound.
Conclusion, if you want a great all around tv/dvd combo with good picture and sound, you wouldn't be looking at this tv. If you want a great price that gets the job done with a decent picture quality, this is the tv for you.
Everything else like shipping and product packaging were great. Side note; read the quick guide before trying to cram a dvd into the tv. It will save you frustration and possibly prevent you from breaking the dvd player.
