When I purchase products, I always read a mix of reviews, and pay close attention to the most negative. This product not only is a great price, but works well, and I’d think will last for a long time. You’ll not find it thick, but a soft, strong thin material. This not only makes it easy to install, but unobtrusive when sleeping. There is no plastic sent, or order at all some new covers have. I stood my mattress on end, and dropped the covering down over the top so that the flap at the zipper end drops down. After laying it back, this made the seams line up beautifully, and it was easy to close the Velcro and zipper. The cover has plenty room for my pillow top with some play left over. Once I made my bed with pad, sheets, I don’t even think about it anymore, and probably won’t need to wash it unless the bed gets wet for some reason. That brings me to it being water proof, a great design feature. All in all, I think it’s a great product and the pricing is good for the protection it provides.

Found we had bedbugs! Cannot afford to replace 3 beds...so, we decided to give these a go. They fit over the beds well. Really like the idea of velcro under the zippered part. I read in a review someone recommended using duct tape over the zippered part on a different brand, but it doesn't seem necessary in this case. Plus, you can wash them whereas if you duct taped I would think that would render them ruined. I don't know much about bed bugs, but I hope that they and or the little ones cannot get through the breathable-type fabric. Crossing my fingers! Had these on the beds for only 3 days . . . and so far no sign of them. I would recommend that you put them on outside and then bring them in just in case any little buggers get knocked off in the processs! Oh, the price is so so much better than on another website. They would've been more like $89 a piece and you need to buy two per bed- one for the box spring and one for the mattress.

I feel fortunate that I have never had a bed bug situation, and I hope I never do. For the price, I decided to get this one because I wanted a full coverage mattress pad/protector. I do have some allergies, so I figured this would be nice to have for that, too. I noticed some complained about difficulty in putting this cover on the mattress by oneself. It has been my experience that is the problem with ANY full coverage mattress pad/protector. Mattresses were not created to cooperate with that sort of action. I put this on all by myself, now I am sitting for a short while to recuperate. That is a task that is ALWAYS difficult with any brand. Not exclusive to this. It seems well-made, it seems sturdy. It will fully suit my purposes. I'm happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone. IF it keeps out, or traps inside, any bed bugs, that would be frosting on the cake. =)

I was excited to receive my bag in the mail. However, short after opening the package I noticed the thin and delicate fabric the bag was made of. Once I slipped my mattress into the bag I began the process of zipping the bag closed. I encountered a resistance problem when I reached midway zipping the bag closed. At. this point I realized I had to pull the bag forward since it was a tight fit. I managed to pull some excess forward to finish zipping the bag closed. However, once I zipped it closed I closely inspected every side of the bag to make sure it was completely sealed whereupon I notice a 5 inch rip on the seam just below the middle end of the zipper. The only thing I thought I could do was to sew it up quickly and hop the seam holds. The fabric is paperlike and does not seem heavy duty enough and capable of lasting for a long period. I fear will probably have to buy another bag soon. Very disappointed the quality of this product. Stu

The encasement I ordered fits my mattress. It is not made of crinkly plastic, as I feared, but a kind of semi-opaque fabric instead. Liquids will pass straight through it, but not insects, apparently. Before I put the encasement on my mattress, I woke up with bites. However, I didn't get bitten after I used the encasement, even though I put it on the mattress several days before my appointment with the exterminator. It's a good idea to vacuum the mattress before putting an encasement on it. I also strongly recommend using these mattress protectors along with other methods of eliminating bed bugs, such as heat-treating clothing and electronics. The nasty creatures get into many other objects besides mattresses, you know. It will still be necessary to hire an exterminator, but at least you can save your mattress this way.

We purchased two full and one queen sized cover to put on and protect the three new mattresses purchased for our children's rooms. The first full ripped in two places while trying to put on the mattress; even though our mattresses are a full three inches thinner than the maximum width, they were tight to put on; and we were being very careful. The queen we managed to get on, only to find the zipper was split off and not stitched completely onto the fabric, rendering it useless for keeping out bedbugs. The material was thin and not quality. There was very little stretch to any of the side material. We didn't even try to put on the other full (although thought it ironic the zipper on the plastic outer package was broken). We returned all three to the local Walmart who took them back cheerfully and directed us to their bedding department where they sell a different brand in store; she said they've never had a return on those. The difference in quality was amazing. While they were $10 more per unit, they went on with plenty of room, had secure zippers and were easy for two adults to slide onto the mattress. New mattresses aren't cheap so next time I will not go with price when determining a mattress cover.

Step 1 Call a friend or 2 to help you put these on your bed. Step 2 find any sharp corners on the frame of the box spring and the metal frame apply tape 2 layers would work. Step 3 double check or clean the area free of dressers or anything that will impede your movement. Step 4 Apply covers to bed Step 5 PRIOR to putting on your fitted sheet, place GAIN dryer sheets in the four corners and the middle of the mattress the scent will drive the bed bugs away from your body and further into the mattress to die. *This step can be done if you are waiting for your shipment to arrive so you can get temporary relief of the bed bugs* I have a full bed and I put it on myself but ended up ripping the material BUT i taped it up had to remove the cover from the bed to put tape on the inside the put tape on the outside. Maybe a glue gun would work as well. Its a great cover its a hybrid of cloth and plastic and is breathable (which is great since I had a non-breathable plastic cover that literally popped after I put it on along with the bed sheets and laid down). I bought two of these one for the box spring and the mattress, and it is big for both in terms of width and height (I have a serta mattress that came with a built-in padding on the top)

Purchased multiple sizes for the group homes that I run and they are great; the price is also very competitive to whats on the market. They are easy to put on and offer multiple layers of protection/barriers to prevent against bed bugs, dust, dander, mites, you name it. Washed very well in the machine which was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend for the price and protection.

If you have bed bugs, I feel for you. I lived for two years in a home severely infested with bed bugs. On September 25, 2014, I was liberated from that toxic situation, my son by my side, and I swore NEVER AGAIN would I EVER live with bed bugs. So when I first suspected that I could POSSIBLY have bed bugs again, I went into a sort of manic, paranoid, and slightly genocidal (towards the bugs, you see) state of mind. As a single mother with a disability, I don’t exactly have a lot of money to throw around for mattress covers. So I was grateful to find these on Walmart.com for a reasonable enough price that I could purchase 2: one for the mattress and one for the boxspring. Before you begin to consider purchasing these or any covers, you need to make sure you know the dimensions of your mattress and boxspring. Not just whether it’s a twin or a full or whatever….really know the dimensions of your bed. Because, while Ii have a regular old plain matress, I don’t reckon these covers would work with anything bigger than that, like a pillowtop. But, really, in the end, it’s your call. If you have doubts, try maybe ordering a size up just to be safe. Here is what I did when “installing” these covers: First, I sprayed down the mattress with rubbing alcohol (91%). Rubbing alcohol, if you didn’t know already, kills bed bugs on contact. Apparently window cleaner will do it as well, but I didn’t want to take any chances. Then I put thecover on. A lot of the reviews I read said that it is nearly impossible to put these on by yourself. For some people this is true. As for me, well, I’m a single mom with a fussy toddler who is not only out of shape but also on the short side. And I managed to get these covers on by myself with very little frustration. Tip: not that I did this, but I suggest that, when putting these covers on, don’t try to force it too much. I reckon if you’ve got a fluffier mattress, like a pillowtop, it will be a tighter fit, and I’m not sure how durable the material is. It felt relatively stretchy, but I have my doubts. After the cover was on and zipped and velcroed, I sprayed the mattress down again with rubbing alcohol, just in case there were some stray bugs in the carpet that decided to colonize on top of the cover. I repeated this process with the boxspring. After the covers were on both mattress and boxspring, I sprayed down the metal frame (just in case. Most bed bugs prefer fabric, but it never hurts to be on the safe side), and then I sprayed the carpet underneath my bed, at the baseboards, and I even took a Q-tip soaked in alcohol and rubbed it in the phone jack socket, just to be on the safe side. I then proceeded to steam-clean the carpet underneath my bed before I put everything back together, installed my new bedding set, and went on with my day. In total, I think this took about an hour. If I hadn’t been so determined with the rubbing alcohol and steamer, I reckon it would have taken between 15 and 30 minutes. For the record, while I was doing this, my son was in the next room, as far from the fumes as I could get him, strapped into his car seat, and playing with the iPad. Since doing this about a week ago, I have yet to see, feel, or even think to see or feel a single bed bug. I have slept a lot better at night, probably more from psychological relief than anything else, and all is well. I absolutely recommend this product to ANYONE who is struggling with bed bugs. Oh, and FYI, I have been told that one should keep covers on a bed-bug infested mattress for at least a year before even considering taking them off. Because apparently bed bugs can live up to a year, even without feeding. Insidious vampiric vermin…. Good luck!

We started using these always at our women's recovery houses about three years ago. We had had issues in the past with bed bugs being brought in by transient residents and had to replace all our beds and mattresses. Since we started using these mattress covers we have not had any bed bug outbreaks. They are wonderful!

Everything works as advertized on this. We bought one for our king mattress since our toddler occasionally sleeps with us. Although she has diapers, she does bring drinks like her milk to our bed and spills them. We already foresaw this thats why we bought one. Sure enough after me and my wife installed it she spilled a glass of water and it didn't seep through! It was amazing! I think the only tricky thing about this is the installation. It didnt come with any instructions. There's a flap that goes down inside the zipper so you have to determine which side's top. The flap was only halfway so wherever the side the flap is, that's the top when you install it.

  • A. Yes, if you apply the mattress protector correctly, then any bed bugs trapped inside should be as good as dead. I'm going to leave mine on for the next year just to be safe. You'll still need to decontaminate your other belongings such as clothes, books, and electronics, but it can be done. It's just a lot of work. It will still be necessary to call an exterminator, though. DIY methods won't be enough by themselves.

  • A. I had bedbugs a year ago and it was summer, so I put two heaters in my bedroom and turned my mattress on the side and heated it up to 160 degrees, ( we were in a heatwave, and it was 100 outside)and placed moth balls under the mattress and the best thing was to use 90 percent rubbing alcohol and spray it all over the room, that kills them. I am buying these just for the feeling of knowing, if there are any little buggers left, They will die. Borax also works, just put it on the carpet, let it sit there for a week or two and vacuum it up, it is also the best remedy for fleas

  • A. Yes. It will trap the ones that are on the mattress inside. You probably have bedbugs living outside of your mattress too, but they are so much easier to find and remove from this cover than they are from the bare mattress. ... You could put a piece of tape over the zipper for extra protection if you are very worried.
