I am quite pleased with my steamer canner. I used the tip for vinegar in the water the first time and it did work. Forgot the second time and now I have stains so be sure and use each time. Works fast and easy.

Bought this for my parents who love to can but are having trouble using their old heavy one. They have used it two or three times already and are very satisfied. It's lighter, easier to get the jars in and out, and isn't as heavy or hard on their stove top. They would recommend this and are glad I got it for them.

  • A. No, green beans are low acid and you must use a PRESSURE canner for those types of product.

  • A. NO.. you will need a pressure cooker canner for anything that can not be processed in a water bath. Like tomatoes, peaches, pickles. Check with a Ball canner book as to what may be processed in a water bath canner - they work and are timed exactly the same.

  • A. Green beans should be processed in a pressure canner. This is not a pressure canner, it is more like a "water bath" canner. So anything that you can can in a water bath, you are able to can in this steam canner.

  • A. Not safely. Steam canning is not recommended at this time for low acid foods. Low acid foods are potentially deadly because Clostridium botulinum bacteria could survive the steam canning and produce the poison that causes botulism.
