My husband bought this - he wanted to get away from teflon. After 2 weeks of frying a few things in it - eggs would not come out - they started sticking, badly. I took it back and exchanged for another. Here we are, 2 months later, trying desperately to make it last because, once again, everything is sticking and you better not even put eggs in it. Poor product, will never buy another - still looking for that idea to get away from teflon - but not in this company. Attaching a picture of what it looks like now after washing - the dark spots are where the food sticks http://www.walmart.com/ip/As-Seen-on-TV-12-OrGREENic-Porcelain-Ceramic-Fry-Pan-with-Helper-Handle/21295765

I purchased this pan with great expectations...but was greatly disappointed. I seasoned it just like the instructions said to do before the first use...but my food still stuck to the pan. I thought maybe it was just what I was cooking (pot pie filling with cheese#, so I tried it again. The stir-fry vegetables stuck to the pan. So I tried it AGAIN #I can't remember what I cooked)...and the food stuck to the pan! The food stuck just as bad as some of my old non-stick pans. I noticed that I was having a harder time cleaning it than my other pans too...which I thought was ridiculous! I took it back to the store and got a refund. It wasn't worth my time...especially after reading other reviews. Apparantly it gets worse the longer you have it! I decided to get a Lodge 12" cast iron skillet instead. I cooked spaghetti in it the first time using it and the meat didn't stick at all...unlike the supposedly "non-stick" Orgreenic pan. It was also $10 cheaper and will last a lifetime.

"Thought" it was the next greatest frying pan!

My wife brought this home and said this is the next greatest frying pan. With skepticism in my voice I said, "We'll see about that". Since I've managed to destroy every other frying pan that she has ever brought home in record time. All the other ones the non-stick wears off. But on this wonderful OrGREENic pan not only did everything stick, it warped on the FIRST use. My wife even seasoned it the way the instructions said. What a piece of garbage. When I read to find out how to get my thirty some dollars back on this garbage it says don't send it back to the store, send it to California to the factory. But don't forget to send a check with the item to cover shipping for your new pan. So I have to pay for shipping out to California and shipping back to me. After all that I have 3/4's of a new pan paid for. Thats CRAZY. To make a long story short. Do Not Buy This Pan, I have never made a review on a product before but this pan is so bad I had to warn people. Happy Frying!!

    Like a "cast" pan

When I got it home and started reading the materials I had to double check the paper work to make sure it was for this pan, it was. It read like the instructions for a cast iron pan and not like a "space age" non-stick coating. The pan says it works better if is it seasoned like "all professional cookware" however, only Cast Iron cookware requires "seasoning" (oiling the pan and baking it ON TO the surface to create a carbon coating. This is NOT what I thought I was buying and I did not expect to "season" a modern non-stick cooking surface without a good reason. It turns out this is a Ceramic pan (like one I saw for only $20.00) and if this is what is is required of ceramic cookware, I will see if I can justify the extra 20 dollars for this Green ware (which by reading the paperwork appears to be a rather old pan) If not, I will decide later what I will do with this pan, A cast iron pan certainly would have cost FAR less than this expensive piece of Aluminum.

Okay, first off this item is advertised that it can be used without having to use any butter, oils to keep foods from sticking. I assure you this isn't the case. It only applies whe. You are cooking something that may require a "little liquid" to the recipe. If you are cooking something dry, lije a boneless chicken breast, you will have to coat the pan. BUT with that being said, it only requires a very little butter/oil unlike most other skillets. I would also like to state this is by far the best nonstick skillet by far (compared to other high and low end nonstick brands.) Treat it like you would/should treat a iron skillet and you will be pleased with the results. This is my 2nd skillet of this particular one (bought this one for a family member.) My 1st one was bought over 1 1/2 years ago, I use it as my main skillet and it still works pretty well as a nonstick skillet. But I treat it like a iron skillet in the since of not using soap to clean it. I use warm/hot water to clean it and "season" it once every 6 months.

I bought a 12" pan this evening. The $29 price seemed a bit steep, but I knew that if I didn't like the pan I could always return it to Walmart for a full refund. I followed the instructions by washing & drying the pan, then lightly wiped it down with "Vegetable Oil" and put it in the oven for 1 hour @ 300 degrees to season it. Let it cool all the way down on its own, then washed the dried built-up oil off with hot soapy water. I then grilled myself a 1" sirloin steak [with seasoned salt, course ground pepper & liquid hickory smoke] that turned out perfect. You can cook with high heat, unlike with the stainless steel or older non-stick fry pans. Using medium high heat, my steak had a nice brown sear [kind of like you would get on the grill] on the outside and a thin line of pink in the center. Afterwords, I wiped the pan with a little warm soapy water and dried it in all of a minute. The green color of the pan wasn't changed in the slightest, nor was there a scratch in the finish. So far I am very satisfied with this product. Looking forward to many grill cheese sandwiches & more steaks in the future.

I bought this pan at walmart (which is my favorite store) I follow the instructions that come with the pan and the first thing I did was to cook an egg with no oil like on TV, but it was HORRIBLE, it got stuck in the pan right away and from then on everything I cooked got stuck. It is a horrible pan. I called the Orgreenic department because it saids it has a lifetime warranty and they said I have to send them 8 dollars for shipping, besides I read very bad reviews about the address they gave me and they not sending anything back. So I got stuck with a useless pan that cost me a little over 40 dollars. Please be careful and is better to buy a well known brand.

I think I have tried EVERY non-stick pan on the market and ALL have failed! I have spent little money and I have spent a LOT of money on a pan but to no avail! I even tried a white non-stick pan that cost a small fortune. They stick, the non-stick stuff scrapes off or I get black particles from the pan in my food, etc. etc. etc. These OrGREENic pans are awesome! I use my frying pan several times a week and, no matter how much stuck on food it looks like is on it, I just rinse it out with a dish cloth and hot water! Nothing sticks, the coating doesn't burn off, it doesn't scrap off even with metal utensils (although not recommended), it doesn't have a single mar, blemish or color change since I started using it. I needed a larger frying pan today so grabbed one of my others and ended up throwing it in the sink and grabbing my OrGREENic pan again today so I have decided to throw out ALL of my other pans and get the OrGREENic in every other size I can find!

Purchased the 10" pan less than a year ago, and it has already stopped being non-stick. I did everything the packaging suggested before using it the first time, and it worked well for a while. I recently attempted to make pancakes on the skillet without using oil or butter first, and they stuck very badly to the pan surface. What gives? Should I return it to the store for a full refund or try another pan. If I don't know what happened to mine, I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a purchase option, yet.

Great idea to put support handle on other side of long handle. Long handle should have been made thicker (more sturdy). It feels like it would bend under heavy loads without using support handle.

    • A. It did not come with a lid, buy it seperatley or go outside the box in thought process and purchase a decent splatter screen, I have them and the lid and use the screen the most. Handles on lids will get hot and need a pot holder, that is the only draw back other than draining purposes.

I intend to see how it works WITHOUT seasoning as this is a home, Summer is coming and the temps are rising, but the A/C has not been turned on yet since the furnace may still need to run overnight. Seasoning I have done (and as they have recommended requires oil and a lotta heat (I usually go 350-400, but they say 300 for an hour - I guess there are a lot of ways to skin a raccoon)

    • A. All they mean by "seasoning" the pan is covering the bottom with vegetable oil and heating it up until just before smoking. It explains it in the directions exactly how to do it so you can get the full nonstick performance of the pan. I have a 10" orgreenic and followed these directions and the pan works great. I don't know if it would work any different if you DON'T season the pan, but to me it was worth following the directions. Hope this helps.
