After Chris tests poorly on a standard exam, his teacher, Ms. Morello, refers him to the school's guidance counselor, Mr. Abbott. Although Chris tries to explain that the whole situation is a big mistake and he didn't understand the importance of the test, Mr. Abbott puts him through a series of mental evaluations and eventually determines that Chris must attend a remedial class.

Meanwhile, without a television to occupy their time, Drew and Tonya must find new ways to amuse themselves, including making prank phone calls.

Meanwhile, Julius and Rochelle get an unexpected IRS refund check in the mail, but Julius is too afraid to spend any of the money in case the IRS decides to take the money back from them.
