"My Favorite Wife" (1940) A funny thing happens to newlywed Nick Arden (Grant) on the way the the honeymoon suite: he meets the wife (Irene Dunne) who was lost at sea and presumed dead. Nick goes from having one wife to two to none to one in this screwball comedy also starring Randolph Scott and Gail Patrick. "Night And Day" (1946) Grant stars in color for the first time in this fanciful biopic playing Cole Porter, the most sophisticated name in 20th century songwriting. More than 20 Porter songs grace this tale of triumph and tragedy, with Jane Wyman, Mary Martin and Eve Arfen providing vocals and verve. "The Bachelor And The Bobby-Soxer" (1947) Richard Nugent (Grant) is a lady's man "sentenced" to date a love-besotted teen (Shirley Temple) by her sister (Myrna Loy), a judge. Grant adopts the era's teen lingo, flub-foots through picnic races and clears one comedy hurdle after another in this irresistible Oscar(R) winner. "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" (1948) New York adman Jim Blandings (Grant) says goodbye to his cramped city apartment to build a home in Connecticut. All it will cost him is his time and money... and perhaps his job, marriage, happiness and remaining sanity. Goodbye, Manhattan, Hello, comedy! Myrna Loy costars.
