About this item
When four strong, sassy and sexy Southern women running a fledgling interior decorating firm hit the television airwaves as "Designing Women" in 1986, they brought a new kind of Southern spirit to American television. Smart, ambitious and outspoken - they embodied the "new" Southern woman. The series starred Delta Burke as the alimony-rich beauty queen Suzanne Sugarbaker; Dixie Carter as Julia Sugarbaker, who's nobody's fool and runs the operation; Annie Potts as Mary Jo Shively, the sweet-natured, recently divorced mother; and Jean Smart as small-town gal Charlene Frazier. All the women are devoted to the business, and each one is devoted to the other. Episodes included in this collection: "Designing Women", "New Years Daze", "Monette", "On Suzannah", "Ted Remarries", "Killing All the Right People", "Heart Attacks", "Return of Ray Don", "Big Haas and Little Falsie", "The Wilderness Experience", "The Naked Truth", "Stand and Fight", "Nightmare from Hee Haw", "Julia Gets Her Head Stuck In A Fence", "Julia and Suzanne's Big Adventure", "Foreign Affairs", "A Blast From The Past", "And Now, Here's Bernice", "This is Art?", and "The Pride of the Sugarbakers".
