Works great. B sure when you purchase these they are sealed and have not been used. My last purchase the bottles did not have the plastic rip off seal and both canisters were empty

I have used the exchange system three times now over the past 6 weeks or so. It is a great option for the environment as well as for my wallet. The last time I did the exchange, I got a "full" sealed container. Normally each container lasts about 2 weeks. The last one only lasted for 1 week. I did not use it any more than normal. I'm not sure if there was a leak somewhere that I just couldn't detect or if the container was not filled properly. I exchanged that one and have another so I started keeping track of the number of liters I am making to be sure it's lasting like it should. Other than that one little glitch I have been very satisfied with the exchanges.

Over the past year, I have attempted (and I say attempted) to exchange soda stream cylinder at Walmart. About half the time, they are sold out and unavailable, at least to my experience. On one occasion, I made a cylinder exchange only to find out that it was empty! The mistake was corrected by Walmart, but my time and gasoline driving was not. Overall we do like the Soda stream machine and like the idea of mixing our and carbonating our beverages to our liking, with syrups, fruit juices, lemon juice, etc. However, in our experience it is not YET economical. Even with the best Soda Stream syrups, you get about 6-two liter bottle's worth from each syrup bottle at $4.96 (that works out to $0.826 for every two liters). We haven't even figured in carbonation yet! Might I remind the reader, that Sam's club brand two liter sodas are presently $0.84. The Sodastream CO2 carbonation cylinder is said to make 60 liters worth. However, that is going by the manual, which states to push until you hear a buzzing sound, then make the buzzing sound for three times additionally each for one second. In our experience, this does not make the soda fizzy enough to our liking. We do the buzzing noise about 5 times. So your 60 liters is now more like 35 liters, for a $14.96 cylinder exchange ($0.854 per two liters for just the cylinder exchange)! (Syrup $0.826 + Cylinder $0.854= That works out to $1.68 per two liters). And with Sodastreams proprietary threading on the cylinder, you cannot put a painball CO2 cylinder in the Sodastream machine. But... an expensive aftermarket adapter is available for about $60.00, that will allow you to use paintball CO2 tanks! So in theory the Sodastream is a good idea, it just needs to be more economical and more available.

I just bought my SodaStream and needed a CO-2 Bottle, and everywhere I looked the price was unreasonable. I got on line and checked Walmart.com and I just knew they would have it and at a price i could afford. Best Price around by far and just what I needed. I will always shop Walmart at these prices.

if your item is missing the green removable safety seal (not the green cap, but the tamper seal), don't accept the item. it could be a used one, a defective one, or an empty one. Sometimes the clerks don't know this.

GREAT for People that live out in the Sticks! No carrying in a bunch of 12 packs/2 liter bottles! The Bulk and weight of 2 Carbonator bottles and 4 Soda Syrup bottles (a FOUR MONTH SUPPLY for a heavy Soda drinker) is LESS THAN Carrying 2 12- packs (Which Might Last you 10 days!). The Cost Per Liter comes out to a little cheaper than buying Generic 2 Liter Sodas, so there's savings THERE as well! You might Want to find someone with a Sodastream or go see a Demo Before Buying, to try the different Flavors First! If you Make up a Lime Soda, and add 2 teaspoons Maraschino Cherry Juice (along with a couple cherries as well), You got a Cherry Limeaide for less than HALF what Sonic charges!

I have tried before to order the exchange cartridges, but I would always in the past receive a notification after the order that the product was not available. It always showed up on the site as available at my rural superstore. Finally, this time that did not happen. They had the exchange, and the site-to-store clerk knew what they were and how to handle it. Now, I can save half the price on the cartridges because I no longer need to buy spares. I marked durability as good because I have yet to get a cartridge to last for more than 40 liters (rather than closer to 60) even using the low carbonation settings.

    • A. SPEND THE MONEY and buy at least TWO other one liter bottles. Fill with cold tap water to the line (on the bottle) and store them in the refrigerator. This is what I do now. I was told it helps that the water is cold for the carbination. I take a bottle out of the fridge, make some Soda Stream and when I'm done with the bottle, rinse it and replace it with cold tap water and restore it in the fridge.

    • A. I've always just used tap water. I also carbonate grape juice and apple juice and even chocolate milk. Yes, Ive made a mess a couple of times, but if you don't fill the bottle quite as full and release the pressure slowly, you wont have a problem. Minute Maid cherry limeade is one of my favorites. It tastes just like the one you get at Sonic.

    • A. Our family of five circulates five one liter carbonating bottles and to make sure we have a ready supply of cold water ready to make our favorite soda with, we put about a dozen ice cubes in the bottle, then fill with water from our Britta pitcher, then place it in the refrigerator. Within about 30 minutes, the ice has melted and we have nice cold water ready to carbonate.

Walmart carries a light blue tinted, hard plastic, very slender gallon and a half container with a front spigot dispenser, that works great to keep your water cold in your refrigerator to use as needed. You can add ice cubes to your drinks once you make them.

    • A. No, it should be used with filtered chilled water. I highly recommend buying a Rush Hampton Fresh 'n' Clean bottled water maker to use, then purchase a slender plastic gallon and a half container from Walmart to keep your filtered chilled water in your refrigerator. It has a spigot on the front of the container for easy use and is clear so you can see when it needs refilling at the top area that is capped. The bottled water maker can be used for 1000 gallons of filtered water before you have to buy a new filter for it. You can buy it online. It says it lasts a family of four for one year and installs quickly and easily on your kitchen sink faucet. Everything you need to install it comes with it. It does not filter out fluoride, but does filter out just about everything else.
