  • A. I bought a Coleman 2 mantle propane lantern model 5154B700 in 1992, along with 2 bottles of propane. They had been in a closet, upstairs in my home until last week..the mantles had never even been fired. I used the bottles in a Mr. Heater Big Buddy heater and they burned perfectly...dang near 25 year old propane, and they lasted just as long as the new bottles that I had purchased with the heater just 1 week prior....Unlimited? I don't know....23 years? Affirmative!!

  • A. I had several tanks left over from the previous year, all new tanks, never used or opened. When I used them the next year they only burned for about half the time of what they did the prior year. They must have slowly leaked so now I will never buy more than I can use for the one season. This was not just one tank but about 10- 12 tanks and they all had shortened life spans the following year. :(

  • A. it is unlimited if you have not used it. If you disconnect the canister the shelf life of the partially used container will shorten due to the probability of it leaking off the unused portion of the canister. You should use a brass cap made for these cannisters that have been used.

Burns cleaner than any other I have found. As efficient as a small can be in my opinion.

Customer has been confirmed to have purchased the item from Walmart.

Used it with 2-burner stove (12000 BTU per burner) for 5 meals (2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 2 dinners for 3 people). We were surprised that one 1lb. can lasted with remaining fuel to spare. We purchased two 2-packs (four 1 lb canisters) for our car camping weekend. Needless to say, we still have 3+ left for future trips. Observation: the propane fuel was a lot cheaper than our fire wood...it would have cost us a lot more to cook over the camp fire. Then again, the camp fire is entertainment...part of the fun of camping.

My Mother and I use these canisters to fuel our coelman stove and lamps. We find them to be very economical, one canister would last us 4 to 5 nights on our lamp and we burned it 4 or 5 hours each night close to the brightest setting. We would never use any other fueling system.

I like getting the two pack. It makes it easy to stock up on these. They seem to last about four hours on a medium to high flame on my camp stove.

You may like the old fashion way and pump pressurize the fuel (I do too), but if you want it easy and are not in a remote place were you require sophisticated fuels just go to any Walmart and Coleman propane fuel should be your answer. As easy as screw in and screw out to install it or replace it. The only reason I don't give the 5 stars is be cause the tanks are not refillable. I know you can, but are not mean to do that.
