...supply for my emachine ET133IG. i was wondering. are all power supplies in computers the same size. i worry if i buy a 500w one it may be too big and won't fit in my machine that currently holds a 300w one. if size does vary, how can i tell how to pick that right size for my particular computer? also, will i seriously need a new processor just because i am getting a new graphic card and power supply? my current one is an amd athlon dual core processor. the graphic card i will be getting is an EVGA GeForce GTX 560 SE 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card. will my particular emachine, processor and 500w power supply work very well together without having to buy a better (quad core) processor?

  • A. E-machines are like most comercialized computer systems e.g:hp, Dell, Gateway etc.....you usually have to buy straight from the manufacturer for it to fit...or gut the original tower and put everything into a different tower, and use any power supply you want. Usually if you buy another tower...it comes with a power supply... so make sure you get the tower with the right power supply....Most towers with large power supplys are expensive when compared to the lower wattage ones...however you are usually just paying for the power supply. If you use a "power usage calculator" to determine your overall wattage, it is best to increase the power by 50% at least. Happy computing.

  • A. Power Supply Units can vary in size, but it isn't strictly based on their wattage. I determined this by looking at a few PSUs on this Walmart site and looking at the product dimensions. CoolMax CL-Series 700W Product in Inches (L x W x H): 5.9 x 5.6 x 3.3 Coolmax V-500 Series 500W Depth: 5.9 in Height: 3.3 in Width: 5.5 in Note that shipping dimensions is probably the box it comes in. Cooler Master 500W Depth: 5.5 in Height: 3.4 in Width: 5.9 in CoolMax ZX-500 5.9 x 6.5 x 3.3 My 300W PSU is 5.5 x 6.25 x 3.375 and a 6.5 width would not fit. A length of 8 inches might fit though. You can open the case and look to see if a slightly longer PSU would fit.

The GTX 560 SE will play most games out there at high setting and some on ultra. Battlefield 3 or BF3 is a new game that has only been released for a few months. I have problems running this game in high performent setting and in ultra setting in 1080p or HD to game locks up and I have to ctrl+alt+del to get it unstuck. Nvidia hasn't released the New drivers yet and they will soon. I can run the game for defferent lengths of time without it locking up in with high and ultra settings and man does it rock. I can run it in 1024*786 in High and ultra setting all day long and it still looks pretty good. Like I said I figure the nvidia drivers will fix a lot of problems. and the beta drivers help some times but not in this instance. over all this card and the price rocks
