  • A. fully assembled, they provide an allen wrench that has different size on both ends. Small one is good for the brakes and other stuff. the large side is for the seat adj fwd and back.

  • A. You will have to take off the packaging. You will have to insert the seat post into the down tube. You will have to check tire pressure. You will have to adjust the seat height, handlebar height and angle to suit your preferences. The included manual clearly shows how to do all of this. Very easy.

So far (15 miles) this seems to be a good bike. It definitely is priced right. It's a copy of the top selling and expensive Dahon folder. This Genesis folder is light - only 23 lbs The only issue I have with this bike is the weight capacity. The Wal-Mart website lists it at 250 lbs. The Genesis website does not list the capacity in the specs of this bike. The Genesis/Kent tech support said it is 250 lbs. The Genesis manual that came with the bike shows the capacity is 230 lbs which includes the weight of the rider + cargo + bike.... Beside that issue, the bikes seems well made. Rides nice and folds easily. Only had it a short time so I can't comment on durability. I guess I would recommend it to a skinny friend...it only cost $200...

A well made bike specially for a heavy person like I am. When unfolding the bike besides the normal lock down it also has snap lock also that gives it extra protection from coming apart. You can't go wrong with this bike and I bought larger seat since I am a bigger guy makes a world of difference.

I bought and returned this bike 3 times.....I like the style but i kept getting defective ones so i gave up. The first one I got had a slipping 6th gear, but the derailleur looks properly aligned. The 2nd one had a very loose headset...the box looks like its been opened and it is just taped instead of stapled. The 3rd one wont shift from 6th to 5th gear..... I had to go to 4th and drop it to 5th.....the box is nice but the bike itself has dust on the pedals, dust on tires, marks of dirty water splash on the frame..... could be a returned item. PROS: good geometry, you can raise the handle bar really high if you want an upright riding position, ride is good doesn't feel like its a small bike, looks expensive maybe because of the color combination. CONS: The derailleur is shimano but quality is not that good. The shimanos they sell in amazon for less than $20 look way way better. The crankset i think is too small for a 20" tire which makes the lowest gear almost useless and the highest gear not fast enough. some parts are loose, brake cable, seat, handle bar, brake lever. they should be more strict in quality control

Great Folding Bike for the Money!

Let me start by saying, this is my first folding bikes and the only bike I have ever purchased from a box store(department/discount store or superstore). For the fact that this bike has an aluminum frame says it all, plus the welds was very good/beefy. Setup only took me 3-5 minutes and minor checking the tightness of each bolt was another 5-10 minutes for safety reason and per the instruction manual. The packaging was right on the dot and not a scratch on the bike/paint finish when I pulled it out of the book. The paint is better than shown on the website and the decals are under the clear coat, this is a plus in my books. I also notice a majority of the parts on this bike is aluminum compared to other folding bikes in the price range that are steel(i.e. seat post, stem, handlebars, rims and crank set). Inflated the tires to 40 lbs psi as they are pretty thin tread, the tires have a reflective strip on the side wall, this is good safety feature. Shifting required just a minor tweaking of the cable adjustment barrel on the rear derailleur, but after that, the bike ran/shifted flawlessly. After reading a lot of reviews and research, my conclusion is that is bike is very comparable to a Tern or Dahon Eco with the fame design/weld quality. Note, the folding hinges are very good design as it has a double locking pins/claps (one on each side of the frame) feature for the frame and for the folding handlebar system. My only wish for this bike to be perfect is if it had fenders/rear rack. Overall, I feel this is the best folding bike on the market for the price/value.

A great bike at a great price that fits in my car!

Let me start by stating that this bike rocks! I live in an apartment and I have a small car, so a folding bike is a great option - fits in the foyer, fits in the car. Gotta be honest - I was drawn to the British Racing green with the saddle interior. It reminded me of a Jaguar XKE! I'll never be able to afford one of those, so hey, this is a nice substitute. Looks aside, this is a very functional piece. It rides like a bicycle, not something a circus clown would ride. It handles like an adult bike, not like a kid's bike. It shifts well, with enough gears for my riding which is on city streets. The brakes stop it without being grabby. The seat is comfortable and it raises up nice so my legs can stretch out. I don't feel cramped at all. One thing I really like about it is when I take it on errands or to get coffee, I can fold it up small and lock it anywhere. And I can get my cable through all of it, I don't have to take my front wheel around with me. Another plus is the weight - not too heavy. Crucial if there are stairs involved in my commute. Plus it's easy to toss in the trunk - not only does it not take up the whole trunk, but I can easily close the lid with it in there. No bungees needed! Overall I'm quite happy with this purchase. I've ridden some expensive folders at a bike shop and the Genesis is right there with them for me. The ride is very much like the more expensive ones. You can spend more, but I don't think you'll do better than this bike.

A whole lot of bike for the money

Customer review by BDTE

I'm extremely impressed with this bike. My rating, however, is based on the bike alone, not my experience with Walmart. The first one they sent me had obvious and irreparable damage to both hinges (the main fold and the handlebar stem fold), could not be assembled and had clearly been returned; there is no way it should have been sent to a customer paying for a new bike. However, the second bike is a gem. It is clearly an expensive bike with a few cost cutting measures (cheap seat, grips and low level shimano derailleur) applied to lower the price. However, these are easily upgraded when they wear out, and the rest of the bike is as well-made as any bike I have ever owned (and I have owned many). Top-class welds - I weigh upwards of 260 lbs. and I feel very secure aboard. The only thing I think Genesis should have added are the two water bottle cage threadings. Oh well, I will have to find a clamp-on water bottle mount.

I bought this because we just moved into a small 2nd floor condo and thought this would be a solution to the space problem. When finished riding, I can just load it in the van to store. Turns out that it truly is only 28 lbs, so I could easily carry it up the steps, and I am a 68 year old heavy woman. Everything works properly. Can't tell how long it will hold up as I've only ridden it a couple times so far. The cons: for the price you'd expect some kind of fender to ward off water and mud. The seat is very uncomfortable so I had to spend an extra $21 to get a tan Schwinn seat, which hasn't come yet so I don't know if that will make riding more comfortable. Thought it should come with a back bike rack for carrying stuff. By the time you buy the extra stuff you have paid the same price or more than the name brands, but the good news is that you will still have a lighter bike than the ones for $219 at Walmart. Also, I am 5'6" tall and fit the bike perfectly with the seat all the way down. However, in order to pedal comfortably I have to raise the seat up to the point where I can't balance on the seat with my feet touching the ground. If I don't raise the seat, my muscles begin to hurt (thigh) because I can't fully extend the leg when pedaling. All in all, I am pleased with the purchase. Only time will tell if I ride it a lot due to my thighs hurting. Maybe it is a matter of getting in better shape!

I'm really enjoying this bike so far--it rides well and can fold up and pack into the back of a car. The gears and brakes work very well, and it feels solid, though it is lightweight. I am using this bike to ride back and forth in the neighborhood, and to commute, so it's perfect for that (this isn't an off-roader, for sure). There is nothing to complain about except to say it's a little difficult to lock up because it's so low to the ground. For the price charged it seems like an excellent value!

Hard seat!!

I took it our for a 3 mile ride and the seat is not the most comfortable!! Will have to get a memory foam seat to go over it. The gears feel flimsy when being changed but easy enough to use for someone who has not ridden in quite a few years. I like the fact it has numerous gears but not too many! The seat height is very good for a 5'5'' female and a 5' tall young male. I like the way the handle bars are set and brakes worked quite well so far. Walmart set it up for me-took 3 days but the bed was ready when I picked it up.I had the assembler explained how to use the basic features and the folding mechanism which turned out really simple! The bike is lite enough for a female 127lbs to left and even an 85 lbs young male. The wheels are 20in so you have to adjust to it- they are small!! I will recommend just wish the price was a little lower for the quality.
