Biography of Hannah, Kristin

Kristin Hannah was born in Southern California in September 1960. Before becoming a full-time writer, she worked in an advertising agency and practiced law in Seattle. Her draft was done by the time she gave birth. In 1990, she became a published writer and has been writing ever since. She has won numerous awards including the Golden Heart, the Maggie and 1996 National Reader's Choice award. In 2004 she won the Rita Award for Best Novel: Between Sisters. Her title Winter Garden made the New York Times Best Seller List for 2011. In 2012 Kristin Hannah made The New York Times Best Seller List with her titles Night Road, Home Again and Home Front. Also, in 2013 her title Fly Away made The New York Times Best Seller List.

Review by Library Journal (1996-11-15)

When a failing heart takes fast-living, rebellious Hollywood icon Angelo DeMarco back to his hometown and the life he once rejected, he finds he has more to live for than he thought, but he needs courage-and a miracle-to make it happen. A driven cardiologist heroine; a troubled, vulnerable teenager; and a magnetic priest round out the cast of skillfully drawn characters, and paranormal elements and flashes of humor temper the bittersweet quality of this memorable story of love and redemption. Hannah (Waiting for the Moon, Fawcett Crest, 1995) lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
