About this item

"It" can be anything. A fanged monster that won't stay on the movie screen. Something ominous lurking in the basement. No matter what your biggest fear is, no one knows "It" better than Stephen King. Based on King's 1986 bestseller, "It" is a jittery, jolting excursion into personal fear starring Harry Anderson, Annette' O'Toole, John Ritter, and Richard Thomas. A malevolent force in a small New England town takes the shape of a clown (Tim Curry), but he's not clowning around. Instead, he terrifies youngsters and brings some to their untimely doom - until some wily kids fight back. The evil resurfaces 30 years later: meaner, angrier, deadlier. And friends who vividly remember youthful terrors reunite to battle "It".

Audio Commentary, Interactive Menus, Scene Access.

Subtitles: English (Closed Captioned), French & Spanish.

This movie is one of my favorites because of the bad dreams that followed with it. It has one of my very own personal fears intertwind in it. Loved it. Two Thumbs up

The only thing that I didnt like about this movie was that I had to get up and turn the disc over half way through. It didnt say that anywhere on the box or on the disc, so it was a surprise. Great value!!

Always wanted this movie but never could find it at such a great price. Even though it didn't cost alot, the quality of the product is top notch.

I read the book authored by Stehen King(which was also excellent) and looked at the movie and it pretty much followed what was written in the book. No wonder some people fear clowns, also it would be great to see a remake using today's techlogy.

I remember seeing this made for television movie as a young teen and thought it was kind of scarey and reinforced my dislike for clowns. Ok, the end is pretty lame, but the first half of the movie is pretty darn creepy. We were looking for some Halloween-type movies that were rated PG13 or less to show on a big projector screen at our annual Halloween camp and this movie made the list. I was so happy to find it on walmart.com for only $5! So, with free shipping to my local Wal-mart, which is one the easiest transactions I have ever done, we got this movie. Now, my 8 y/o son wants to decorate this Halloween with a Pennywise theme. Oh, no!!!! So, this will probably be added to our annual spook-tacular viewing list. You can not beat Wal-Mart's large selection of $5 DVD's!

What Is The Reason Being It Rated R? Langugue, Fighting? What?

  • A. I don't believe it is rated R, it was a made-for-television movie, which in today's standards would be rated TV14, at most. There is no violence, but it a little scarey for the young ones. The premise of the story is about the murder of several children - which is a horrible subject, to say the least. There is a suicide scene with blood and an open-eyed corpse, so that can leave some impressions as well. I wouldn't recommend this for any child under 10, unless you want to sleep with them for a week and have them scared of clowns.

  • A. Because it's SCARY!! (my copy is actually NR). The blurb is "the Master of Horror unleashes everything you were ever afraid of" (Master of Horror= Stephen King). It is scary!!

  • A. The one I have is not rated, but it has a PG Canadian home rating. There are some bloody scenes, scary scenes and some cursing. The gory parts aren't very realistic.I think too, one man committs suicide in it.

  • A. Language and violence and murder would be the reasons for the R Rating. It is a great movie, but not for the little ones at all and in all honesty not for the ones under 18 really.
