Rated 1 out of 5 by Babaluie very poor quality and performance
I bought into the ad that stated it cleaned better than a Dyson. First it took over an hour to put together, with only small plastic tabs holding it together. The machine is made of lightweight plastic, it appeared unstable. When I vacuumed it did not pick up dirt well and I had to go over the same area 2 and 3 times, then finally pick the fuzz up myself. I boxed it back up and will be returning it in the morning.
Rated 5 out of 5 by missygirlx I really enjoy having this vacuum. I was nervous about the automatic cord return but it actually works well. I would rather not have it just because its so low down and you have to hold the button and keep the cord straight and it takes longer then just coiling it up. It gets down real low to lower floors and has the option to turn off the spinning duster when you vacuum with is good for me. I feel it really works well.
Rated 5 out of 5 by tina313 AWESOME
I have only had this a week and used it twice, but so far it is AWESOME. It sucks up cat hair off a rug that was impossible with other vacuums. It is a little on the heavy side, but boy oh boy does it do the job!
Rated 5 out of 5 by MichelleSG Great for carpets, hardwood and tile!
Within the past two years, I have used and taken back 3 vacuums. I never write reviews but felt the need to write one for this product. My previous vacuums were Bissell and they were terrible. I tried bagless and bagged upright in that brand and none of them cleaned the way this Eureka one does! I literally bought it about 2 hours ago and never had so much pleasure in vacuuming my entire household equipped with hardwood floors, ceramic tile, carpeting and area rugs. I really enjoy how quiet it is compared to the other vacuums I've owned. Additionally, the suction, especially in the "tools" when using the hose is phenomenal! The hose was actually longer than what I have had in the past. I really like the retractable cord. It's not perfect, you kind of have to maneuver it a little bit to get it back in but it beats wrapping it around and around the side of the vacuum. Plus, it was longer than what I have had in the past too so that was definitely a plus. It is bagless, and you empty it from the bottom which I kind of don't like because we just got new carpeting and it is still "shedding" and that debris didn't empty easily from the bottom of the canister. I actually had to like pull it out. But I kept it over the trash can and it seemed to be fine. The on/off petal is in the back, very convenient. And the floor adjustment is in the front but easy to use with just your foot. It made transitioning from hardwood to area rug to carpet to tile a lot easier. Plus, when you transition, it doesn't blow all of the debris on the hardwood floor around everywhere. I am really pleased with this vacuum and hope that I have it for a long time!
It was very easy to put together, I think its lightweight, and it does a great job on hardwood floors which after doing research and trial and error I found it was difficult to find in a vacuum until now!! I haven't had to clean it yet obviously but plan on writing a review once I get my hands dirty with my new vacuum!
The only thing I am upset about is that I found it as a bundle pack online for cheaper :( I am hoping Wal-Mart can maybe do something for me about that! Hope this was helpful!
Rated 3 out of 5 by Grandma1130 Brush Roll On/Off Not Working Out of Box
I was very pleased doing the carpeting, but after moving to the bare kitchen floor, the brush roll on/off switch would not stay in the OFF position. Called Eureka customer service and followed their directions to have machine upright, switch set to OFF, turn on power, release to tilt position. That worked for a few minutes. One the machine was warmed up, the switch again would not stay in OFF position. Called Eureka customer service again. They said that once the machine is released from the upright position, you have to go through the whole routine again each time to lift the handle up. Still did not work not matter what. Plus, it would be hard to vacuum a floor with the thing laying in a flat position! I'm taking it back. Have not yet decided whether to try another one like it, or try a different brand.
Also, I don't know whether this is related to the problem, but the box for this machine was heavily damaged when I bought it, but there was no visible damage to the machine. Other boxes I saw for the same model at other stores were also heavily damaged, and one machine had visible damage. Somebody needs to look into how these products are being handled.
Rated 5 out of 5 by campinggran The best vacuum I've ever had!
The first time I used this vac in my bedroom I was amazed at the performance! I had been using a Kenmore top of the line upright for years which was not a handy vac to use. I purchased this one for the ease in using the hose and tools. Little did I know that the Kenmore must not have been working well for a very long time. Just one small section of the carpet in my bedroom told me how long it had been. The suction is fantastic, it picks up pet hair wonderfully and it's very easy to use. It weighs about half the weight of the old vac and the added expense of bags is a thing of the past. I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone!
Rated 4 out of 5 by twiddles36 great vacuum

Rated 5 out of 5 by Edward60 This product came as a combo but I have yet the second part of the combo.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Edr2 Works GREAT!!
After I used another vacuum, I went over the same carpet with my new Eureka and it picked up sooo much more! Was amazing! Works really well and picks up all the dust and dead skin from carpet. Gets really good corner to corner coverage. Super satisfied!! The stairs attachment is so easy to use and works like a dream! Id definitely recommend this vacuum to all my family and friends! Works so much better than ones Ive used in the past and I like my house to be CLEAN!!
Rated 4 out of 5 by Rhynorich Great suction and great on Laminate floors
Rated 2 out of 5 by NavyJIM Keep your old vacuum as a spare!
Bought one of these things about 3 months ago. Used it twice a week to vacuum the carpet downstairs (less than 1000 sq ft. The cord was borderline; heated up noticeably. The ergonomics were kinda poor; had to re-engage the beater bar every time you took it out of the upright position. Last week, one of the plastic pulleys for the beater bar drive broke in half, rendering it useless for carpet. Called, was told that the part would not be available before Jan 10th. So what I am I supposed to do for a vacuum until then? I wouldn't recommend this product to my worst enemy!
Rated 5 out of 5 by bigeyes82 I love this vacuum
I received my vacuum in just 2 day and it was really easy to put together. I used it immediately and I love this vacuum. You can tell the suction is strong because not only is it bringing up dirt it is bringing up the carpet. Both my husband and myself think the carpet feels softer because its bring/fluffing it up as it cleans. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. So far so good.
Rated 3 out of 5 by kimshopping This vacuum has good suction and nice options. However it is heavy and hard to manuver around corners, etc. I'm still debating if we are going to keep it or return it.
Rated 5 out of 5 by barbaranne great vacuum
I did not find this to be too heavy and the retractible cord works very well as long as the cord is straight and the button is pushed.
The only "con" is that there is no light to light the path.
Rated 5 out of 5 by M0777G0777B Great Vacuum
Good suction, nice cord rewind. Cleans my carpets just as good if not better than my old vacuum, and that was a dyson! The ony thing I was not happy about is the fact that I had to pay $2.49 for a wand extender. For that price, just give it to your customers for free!
Rated 3 out of 5 by StuffHappens2 fantastic vaccum, EXCEPT, one piece was broken when i got it, but, im sure with the warranty it will be running perfectly when the replacement comes in. i tested it out even with the broken piece when i got it, and i had vaccumed two days before so the floors really werent dirty at all, i was absolutely AMAZED at how much dirt my new vaccum was able to get off my just previously vaccumed floors! great sucking power! and the hand tools are just fabulous!!
Rated 5 out of 5 by kd6aaj Better than our old Bissel
This vacuum (Eureka AS1101A) has SUCTION! I went to vacuum our kitchen rug with solid rubber underneath (one of those type you see in the entry of convenience stores and gas stations), and it practicaly attached it self to the rug by suction! AWESOME. No air leaks as far as I can tell. Our old Bissel leaked from day one. I like other Bissel products, but after the Vac, I'm glad we got this Eureka Vac.
I almost gave it only 4 STARS because the Assembly was a little confusing: they had instructions for other models as well. The handle MUST have screws through it before you pick it up, or the handle will pop back off.
Besides that issue, it is an EXCELLENT Vac, so it gets 5 stars in spite of the assembly instructions!
More helpful info, for cleaning/dumping the canister:
The Cone-shaped thing will fall out if you just dump it in the trash. First remove the cone-shaped thing from the canister by pulling the handle straight up.
The cone shaped thing seperates into 2 pieces by twisting back-and-forth (NOT BY THE HANDLE) both of the gray parts while you pull (top has handle, other has tiny holes like a strainer), water may help the first time.
The inside (clear) part can stay on. It has an O-Ring (or glue?), and we would hate to break it.
Dish soap and warm water works fine for washing the canister parts. You may need a butterknife or something to get stuck-in grit deep up inside the clear part. High water pressure helps!
For Re-assembly, the bottom gray part (strainer) has a tab to line-up inside the back of the canister (by the hinge), then slide in the top part (part with handle). The top part has a tab to line-up with the front of the canister (by the catch/release).
Careful with the folding handle on that cone., it's spring-loaded. Slowly and gently close the canister. Don't slam it shut!
Enoy your new Vacuum.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Johnny200 10 minutes to put together. I was VERY surprised how much dirt this vacuum picked up the first time I used it. It is only hard to push because of the suction. You might have to work a little to get the cord to rewind all the way in but not that big of a deal. Very happy with my purchase. I bought the bundle.
Rated 5 out of 5 by littlepoopsie Price and quality are unbeatable!
I just bought the Eureka SuctionSeal to replace my Dyson. I was amazed at the performance of the Eureka. It more than exceeded my expectations. It was very easy to assemble. The motor is fairly quiet which is a plus because my husband works third shift and I first so it can make cleaning the house a little tricky. I also have two cats and a sandy driveway so we tend to tack a lot of dirt through out the house. The Eureka powered through all of the dirt with ease. I was surprised at the amount of dirt that was picked up by the vacuum in just one pass. Also love the cord rewind option that my Dyson did not have. The only thing is that the rewind could pull a little harder so that the whole cord wraps up in the first try. Other than that I think the price is more than reasonable, the performance is a 10, and the on board tools are a great. I would recommend this vacuum.
Rated 4 out of 5 by richwife Great vacuum
Works really well. Picks up great. Love the auto cord rewind. A little on the heavy side, but that might be because I am not as strong as I used to be!
Rated 5 out of 5 by vetteblonde excellent price- great performance
Easy to put together -looks good. Has several attachments and features, easy cleaning of the dustcup, long extension cord and great performance. I am very happy with the item. And the price is a plus too. Picked up at store, so no shipping charge.
Rated 4 out of 5 by cajeme I love the suction power this machine has. The cord rewind is a bit of a hassle.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Kassa42 I just purchased this vacuum, so cannot make judgement on longevity, but I am very happy with this machine. My house is hardwood with several rugs and we had been satisfied with a small floor sweeper until we adopted a green wing macaw. His favorite activities include chewing wooden toys to splinters, and munching on seeds and peanuts whose shells don't always stay in his cage. The eureka has done a wonderful job of cleaning up after our large red "messmaker." It is easy to switch from rugs to bare floor and there is a switch to turn off the brush action that makes it easier to suck up any shed feathers (I have found that the brush can create enough of a breeze to blow them away).
I did find a few cons:
This is a heavy vacuum without a driving motor. I don't mind it personally, but anyone who may be disabled or have any physical problems will find this machine hard to use.
As with a lot of products, it is geared for right handed people, I push the vacuum with my left hand and noted that all of the foot buttons (on off switch, upright lock, and brush control) were awkward to use because of where they are positioned. Not a big con, as I can switch, but worth noting.
The upholstery brush cleans great, but is kinda loud.
Rated 5 out of 5 by jsmedia Powerful, Easy
I purchased this vacuum as a package with a free Bissell Sweeper. This was a great value. The vacuum is effective on all type of floors.
Features that I like include the auto-cord retraction, the long accessory hose and cord, and the ability to disable the brush roller.
The vacuum might be heavy for some but so far a great product overall.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Chasola Great Vacuum, It really sucks
Rated 5 out of 5 by MaddiesNan Love it!
Putting this together was pretty simple, I was afraid some of the plastic parts would break though. After first use, I was amazed how much it picked up!! Kinda scary how little a regular vacuum picks up. I would def recommend this to anyone thinking about getting a Dyson, huge differance in price and I can't see how another vacuum could pick up more than this one!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Katiemae76 Great product
I am very impressed with this vacuum. It says that it works as well as a Dyson and while I haven't used Dyson products, I am inclined to believe it. The first time I vacuumed I had to empty the dust cup three times before I finished. With my old one I only had to empty it once.
Rated 4 out of 5 by paladyn Gets the job done, easy to empty, maneuverable
What can I say? Not glamorous, it's a tool. Does what it's supposed to do. I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with the second, extension wand. That, and the lack of a light (which I knew about from reviews before I ordered it) is why I gave it 4 stars instead of five.
Rated 5 out of 5 Good mid-price vacuum
I needed to replace another vacuum bought 5-7 years ago. I was never happy with it. I saw this one advertised on TV and I noted it did not have the same poor design as other vacuums in this price range, which is that it trys to suck everything through the long attachment hose.
This model has a selector control on the side to choose between the hose and the floor. Much better. I am pleased with my purchase.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cave Good suction
Has great suction on the carpet. Have to put the dial on tools to use them.
