This is the coolest heater out there. I'm a researcher. I google the daylights out of things before I buy them. This is perhaps the most well thought out heater out there. Indoor/outdoor. ( that's big) It runs on both the small camper type propane tanks (1.6) and also has a way cool quick connect port for 20# BBQ tanks. I fired this baby up in our living room on the two small tanks and it ran my wife out. "Can you turn that thing down?" Hah! Sure babe. It ran for 3.5+ hours on high. Anyway, just make sure you press down slightly when selecting low, medium or high. It's typical w gas devices. And don't leave it in between settings. Again, gas valves like specificity. I don't like the term, but this thing really is idiot proof. Simple to operate. BTW You can remove the small tanks even if they're not empty. The fan kicks out just enough air to spread the heat around. I recently discovered that it also has two slots on the back for hanging it on the wall! Get one. You won't regret it. 18K BTUs! What's not to like. Cheers

Great Little Heater

Customer review by SilverFlames

Had a Dyno-Glo that was equivalent to this heater which lasted 9 years of being used constantly. This upgrade is nice especially the added blower feature which makes a difference with the heated air being blown away from the heater. The 3 settings work very well. The 18,000 BTU high setting gets really hot and have to put it back down to the 9,000 BTU med setting and just let it run. Starts right up with no problems. We use the 20 lb propane tank attachment and it works good and don't have to worry about changing the smaller propane tanks out all the time. Using the small propane tanks is good for the portable use of this heater which is what it is made. This is definitely a good unit and a good buy for the money if looking for a heater like this one. I am sure it will last a long time. Also, don't forget to send in the warranty card that comes with it. Nice to have a warranty coverage just in case. Thanks.

we lost power for 4 days due to a heavy wet snow , we keep this heater on low heat all day long ( we never leave anything burning when we sleep ) we never run out of propane , power is back on but i am still using the heater in hopes to empty the tank so i can get a refill but this heater just keeps on burning . I LOVE IT SO MUCH JUST GOT TO GET ANOTHER ONE , we do have a big house so next time power goes out we can have a heater on both sides of the house

It is a great heater. I bought my heater and was using the 1lbs bottles and that is a wast of money. But the hose and fuel filter and you can use a 20lbs and will last a week on a $19.99 20lbs tank. The 1lbs bottles are $3 each and will use it up within 3 hours

I will use this heater to supplement the furnace in our 5th wheel trailer. I like that the heater has a low oxygen shut down feaqture and a tip over safety feature.

  • A. While many people use these indoor and the manufacturer sort of says its safe if you have it well vented, it puts out a lot of carbon monoxide!!! Other then that it works great, unless you use it with batteries. Google these heaters and fire. they are known to catch fire! Never leave it unattended, or go to sleep with this heater on!!! Play it safe, your life is on the line!!!

  • A. It is rated as indoor-safe. You should still test for leaks and get a CO detector. Do not leave it running when you get to bed.

  • A. YES but only if you use the one pount canisters. It takes two. you can use a twenty pound tank but you need a hose and the tank must stay outdoor. If Walmart does not have hoses you can use either the F273704 or F271803. Neither needs a fuel filter and one comes with a regulator, the other uses Buddy's internal regulator. Both can be ordered from Northern Tool or Mr. Heater.

  • A. "safe" - YES - We used to use kerosene heater but its hard to find the white kerosene in our area anymore (plus price) My husband uses this in his "man cave" in the unfinished basement workshop. In the coldest winter months in PA it takes him about a month to get through 1 tank of propane. Nice big knob for adjustments to temperature, has the "tip-over" feature to auto-shut off. No odor/fumes like the kerosene heater use your common sense around toddlers - like any heating device.

  • A. A 20# tank hold five gallons. A gallon weighs 4.23 pounds. The fuel in a canister weighs 1.6 pounds. On medium a canister will last 4 hours on medium. A 20# tank holds 21.15 pounds. 21.15 divided by 1.6 x 4 = 50.3 hours. On low you will get about 76 hours.
