I knew what I was buying BEFORE purchasing this pool. It is like $12.00 so yeah, you're gonna get what you pay for. I bought one for my daughter about a year ago and it did what I needed it to. I didn't need anything too fancy because she's 4 and now my 1 year old will be in it too this summer. I can set it up by myself and clean it after storage easily by myself. It's not rocket science. Just make sure not to let your kids have any toys or items with sharp edges (just as if they were in any pool with a liner, etc). Common sense :) Of course fill it up where you plan of letting it stay. How many pools can you fill and move other than the baby ones? Back to common sense. :) I would recommend this pool to anyone with small kids that are not wanting to spend an arm and a leg for a kiddie pool. Just an little tip when filling the pool is just walk around the edges as its filling and pull the sides out. I normally stand IN the pool and smooth out the bottom with my feet. Not hard at all. :)

I never wrote a review before, but if this saves someone else the grief of this pool then it will be worth it. I didn't buy this for children, I bought it to keep my Koi in while I cleaned the pond. I put it up myself even though the instructions said two people. Two people would have been better! Another person could have helped keep the sides from colapsing as it filled, a real pain for one person. I had the pool about a third of the way filled when it became clear that it wasn't going to work, very flimsy. I went back and bought a rigid plastic pool, much better! If you have children in the pool and they grab a side, the thing is going to empty out, and your back to setting it up. Do yourself a favor and spring for something better in the first place!

I have a very active 21 mo. old grandson & he loves water. We had the traditional hard plastic sm pool last yr, but thought we would get a larger one for this summer. I didn't realize the sides were so flimsy & collapsable. This might work for a child under 1 yr old, but then it would be too deep and too big. I don't know why they would make such a poorly constructed product.

    • A. When hubby uses the weedeater he does distroy it, but now he's not allowed within 3 feet with weedeater in hand. For planting a garden in it, you can't beat the price or space.

    • A. The pool doesn't have hard sides/bottom. It's a pliable vinyl. I have had this pool for months and my parents have had a similar one for several years and there is been no tearing so far. It comes with a patch just in case of a tear. The bottom is more likely to tear than the sides.

    • A. the sides are kinda hard plastic, but the bottom is a thin rubber liner. I had not problem with it, but we've only set it up once.

    • A. The sides are hard but the bottom is soft so it forms to whatever surface you put it on (like a regular blowup pool). The sides are not stiff but flexible.

    • A. The bottom is vinyl, but the sides are flexible, but hard. It won't tear unless you're rough with it . It's like any other pool bottom.

    • A. It has semi-hard sides that fold down to let out water. The material of the bottom of the pool is equivalent to a pool liner material. I have had mine for over a year and it has not torn. I also, do not let my kids have sharp or pointed edged toys in it. And they do not rough house in the pool.

    • A. since it was only used once, I never found out but one thing is certain, it is very high risk of tearing though. The sides does not stay up. I doubt whoever invented this product never tried filling it up with water and with kids in it. don't buy it.

    • A. No, this pool doesn't need a plug. The sides are easy to collapse to drain the water out of the pool.

    • A. Nope. The way they recommend to skim or empty is to "fold down" part of the side to let out the water you want. We bought a hand skimmer (a little net) to collect any leaves, bugs, etc, that found their way in. We also bought a tarp to cover the pool when we weren't using it. Stays quite clean.
