I purchased this bike for my grandson who is a little larger then most 6 year olds. This bike is well constructed and sturdy and very safe, also easy to assemble. I wasn't expecting much for what I paid but it's truly a nice bike, I'm very impressed. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a bike for the larger than average size child trying to learn to ride a bike. The 16" bikes are too small and the 20" is too tall, this is just right!

    Great Bike for the Price

OK, if you're a bike snob looking for a high-end bike, go spend $200+ at the bike shop. If you're a realistic parent who realizes that your kid is growing like a weed and this bike only needs to last for a couple of years at most, buy it. This is a great little bike for the price. Well designed, trouble-free, cool graphics, and a great intermediate size. A bit smaller than the 20" bikes, which is perfect when they outgrow that cute little 12" starter.

We bought this using site-to-store since they didn't have any available at the store. My 5 year old son had to test drive the girls version of this bike. The 18" is a perfect fit for this age group, as the 16" will be grown out of soon and the 20" is too tall. When I went to pick it up, it was still in the box and I had to come back again to pick up the assembled one. (Assembly of any bike bought at Walmart is free). My son has taken the bike out a few times and it seems good so far.

    Kids don't know the diference

This bike is a cheap bike, that's why I bought it. Kids grow too fast for anything of high quality. My boy loves it he can ride much faster given the higer gear ratio. It was the lowest priced bike I could find on the web that had the quick release seat post and the dual brakes. I would say the worst part about it is the training wheels, they are very poorly built and dont last long when they ride sideways. Lukily he didn't need them for more than a few days an they already were losing thier rubber. Again, the boy can't tell the diference, that's all that counts.

We got this for our son for his 7th birthday. He is small for his size so he could not use a 20" bike, but was too big for a 16". Because his hands are small he has trouble using caliper brakes. While this bike has one on the front wheel it still has the rear motion brake, which is great. We didn't need the training wheels so we just took them off and bought a cheap kickstand, which works great. We have owned this for almost two years and he loves it. We have had no mechanical problems, even though he rides it a lot. It is a great inexpensive bike.

    • A. This bike DOES come with a kickstand. You can view the product inside a Walmart store before you purchase it online.

    • A. When I purchased this bike a couple years ago, it was already assembled and it had training wheels but no kick stand. I see for others it was the other way around. I purchased the cheapie kickstand at Walmart as well. I believe the kickstand was adjustable length...? Anyway, it works perfect and was super easy to install. I had forgotten it hadn't come with a kickstand until I read your question.
