Pole Position agent, Greg Dumont, poses as a double agent to lure Wheels and Roadie to Alex Vance, a man out to destroy the computer system of Pole Position by using the memory bank of Wheels and Roadie. Zachary patches into Vance's computer and informs him of the double cross and explains it was a plan to get Wheels and Roadie into Vance's computer in order to destroy that computer system. The computer blows up, but they get out in the nick of time.

Dr. Hastings develops a vaccine that is one hundred percent effective against all forms of biological warfare. His lab is destroyed by fire and he gives his dog over to Dan, Tess, and Daisy to take care of. He is kidnapped by a foreign agent, the janitor, but is daringly rescued by Dan and Tess. After their harrowing aircraft landing we realize the importance of the dog. The last remaining vaccine sample is flowing in her blood.

A chicken falls into the hands of Dan and Tess, which is being pursued by some shady characters who have kidnapped the professor. Dan and Tess rescue the professor who leads them to the site of an ancient treasure buried inside a mountain. The opening of the mountain is elaborately guarded. The chicken is small enough to get inside where it hears a tune played on the flute which triggers the chicken to tap out a certain sequence which would move the boulder covering the opening.

Tess and Dan are prevented by icy roads from de1ivering a revolutionary new tele-communications satellite to its reclusive inventor, Dr. Russell for a final check before launching. Tess and Dan are separated when Dan wrecks Roadie and must get the car repaired. Each finds a "Dr. Russell" and sends them to the truck where we discover they are both fakes out to steal the satellite. The real Dr. Russell, an older lady, helps Dan rescue Tess and Daisy and stop the theft.

Tess and Dan are sent to participate in a California - Mexico race where it is believed a stolen computer program is going to be smuggled out of the country in a microchip. Tess and Dan suspect different people, but the real culprit is Mr. Wilson, a mechanic, who hides the microchip in a game which he lends to Daisy to play with. Roadie copies the game in order to beat it and acquires the computer program and erases the microchip.

Sections of four different paintings are mysteriously being stolen. After being duped several times, Dan discovers the "thief" is a small robot being controlled by the soda machine vendor. The sections, put together, reveal the major circuit of an enemy power's new master computer. Putting the plans in paintings was the only thing the undercover pole position agent could get the information out of the enemy country.

When Tess, Dan and Daisy inquire into his whereabouts, he lays out thirty-one cents. his is only the beginning of the Pole Position's exciting quest for the thirty-one cent mystery.

Tess, Dan, and Daisy stumble upon a town under the control of an evil magician. He has used his tricks to frighten the people into missing the gold out of an abandoned mine in order to rid the town of the demon. Daisy disappears 1n one of the tricks. Tess and Dan expose the tricks to the children and persuade them to tell them where the mine is located.

An odd message left by Joe Curry, the engineer of Roadie and Wheels, sends Tess and Dan to the scene of a telephone booth where they find a teddy bear leading them to Curry's daughter Suzy. Curry has developed a new fuel injector that saves eighty percent more gasoline for a company but the side effects release dangerous pollutants and he won't give them the model. Tess and Dan rescue Curry.

Tess, Dan and Daisy return to their hometown so Tess can be the Queen, as was her mother and grandmother, in the Queen's Pageant that is held every twenty-five years. Tess, worn out from their hectic lifestyle, is happy to be home but the valuable amulet she wears as queen is snatched from her during the parade. After a wild chase and some detecting, the thief turns out to be the son of as woman who lost the contest to be queen years ago.

Sheriff and Mayor discovered stolen gold and had been using it to keep them from going under. They blow up the old mine where they have the gold stashed, not knowing that Tess, Daisy, the mayor's daughter and Kumas are there. Roadie and Dan save them in the nick of time.

When Dr. Zachary mysteriously disappears, the kids head to Pole Position headquarters to look for clues. They are contacted by businessman Alfred McGuffin, who tells them to "find the colored fish". The kids visit several restaurants with promising names, but quickly find they are being set up to be caught by police and even the FBI. Another visit to PPHQ reveals that McGuffin is actually an international spy.

Tess and Dan are sent to warn Dr. Lungo, an experimental biologist creating new species of animals, of a tidal wave due to hit his island in a few hours. Lungo's radio is out and as his work is top secret. A recognition code is programmed into Wheels' memory bank but Wheels is damaged when they bump into a mine in the water, and Lungo chases Dan away. Tess gets in to deep water after she unknowingly helps Lungo's crooked assistants steal his papers. Wheels rescues her in time.
