Rated 5 out of 5 by david lynch not enough can ever be said about this director. probably my favorite director of all time. a vision all of his own. this film highlights an amazing career for him and is truly beautifully haunting. dennis hopper's role will always be one of the strangest/creepiest roles ever in film. everyone did great in it though. a must see. 03/07/2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by Blue Velvet (Minus Some Buttons) Blue Velvet made me sick to my stomach. The film was one of those lets get this over and forget it quickly moments. However, unfortunately I have not been able to forget the nutty as a fruitcake Dennis Hooper character. But do not get me wrong, Hooper was not the only cracked brain character in this film. I offer this review only to prepare non-suspecting movie fans of what to expect. The film contained sexual violance, drugs, inhumane treatment, poor picture, dialog, directing, and sound quality. The movie had absolutely no production values. To sum up, Blue Velvet gave me the impression that something was unbalanced. Very disturbing. 06/26/2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Very Special Edition Blue Velvet is an American Masterpiece and one of David Lynch's most personal films, it's offbeat and disturbing, horrific and hilarious, it does for the '80's what Psycho did for the '60's. The Special Edition DVD is perhaps the best release of any David Lynch film, you have the film presented in a beautifully restored 2.35 Aspect Ratio supervised by Lynch himself along with a good sound mix, a lengthy documentary explaining the history of the film, a cool photo gallery, a montage of the footage that was deleted and even Siskel and Ebert's controversial review. Bottom line, even Criterion couldn't have done a better job in bringing this modern classic to DVD, a perfect DVD for a perfect movie. 01/03/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by A David Lynch MUST see David Lynch's labor of love. This can be a world view changing experience to watch. Can these things really happen in life? Disturbing and beautiful. This is a MUST SEE. Not recommended for younger viewers. 10/02/2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by R.I.P. Dennis Hopper amazing actors don't come along every day, but dennis hopper is one of them. he nails the role of a lifetime in this beautifully shot david lynch movie. what hopper can do with his facial expression is as important as what is said in this movie. brilliant director, brilliant actor, amazing, creepy movie. highly recommended!!!!! 06/01/2010
