I just retired another brands top of the line shaver with cleaning unit after using it for just 7 months and returned to Remington again (other brand was a gift). This is my third Remington rotary head shaver in the last 20 or so years.
Using the other brand shaver caused some kind of reaction with my skin. I had acne constantly over the last 7 months. As soon as I got back to the Remington shaver - the acne stopped. This model seems a bit more "plastic-y" than all my previous Remingtons, but seems to work just fine. Your mileage may vary.
Rated 5 out of 5 by wilk Great .Sorry I waited so long
Long time user. First Remington was a Auto/Home. Tried a Rotary (another Brand) ,did not like it. Two months ago needed to replace old Remington heads .Decided to upgrade to a R8150 ..Best shave I have had in years
Rated 5 out of 5 by Voke Very close shave that I had been looking for for years.
Only thing missing form this razor is a travel package.
Rated 5 out of 5 by ubreakifix Great so far
I have had this razor for 2 weeks. I use it every day. Beyond the initial charge I have yet to recharge it. Very clean and comfortable shave. Nice and quiet. So far so good!
Rated 4 out of 5 by garcars The product is great. The time it took to get it here was lousy. Over 10 days ! I get stuff from Amazon.com in 2-3 days at most.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cliiick Nice Looking BUT, very average shave.
This very attractive shaver, that will not stay flat on it's back produces a very average shave. I have to follow up with my very inexpensive Panasonic shaver to get a clean job. At twice the price of my previous Remington it doesn't come close to the job it did. Parts are no longer availabe for the old one.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Kussme Good shaver for my needs
I have only had the shaver for 3 weeks, and it does the job, but you have to go at it a second time around, my spouse has real thick hair, I like the window that says how much time you have left to shave, what I don't like is that it does not light up. Watch out when you order a product when it states that you get an instant coupon, this does not mean you are getting a coupon in the mail it means that the money has already been deducted of the price, so stop and read the ad carefully.
Rated 4 out of 5 by TommyP Product has changed?
I realize most manufacturers change their products but I was replacing an R8150 that was wearing out (battery not holding charge) so I had thought that the new one would be exactly like the old one.
This seems to be just a little different - the display is not LCD it is LED and doesn't seem to have some of the characters that the LCD afforded (the LCD would remind me to clean the razor of stubble after a few hours of use) and the body of the razor now has a black plastic back - I preferred the more metal body. I am of the impression that this unit seems to get warm faster than the previous model if shaving for over 5 mins..
I just hope it lasts as long as the previous model.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bratmeister A lot better value than my previous Norelco
I like the fact that it can be used either corded or cordless and that a digital indicator shows how many minutes left on the charge. It is also quiet compared to my previous Norelco.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Captmcnet Shaver functions well
This electric shaver works smoothly, and comfortably (especially when combined with the Pre Shave Powder, sold separately).
Rated 5 out of 5 by travelingpop I have used the product and it works great
Rated 4 out of 5 by Shangrila Very good shaver .
Shaves excellent , no travel case?? No cap to cover the blade area !!
I got the shaver after three weeks of ordering it online !
Rated 4 out of 5 by boniann My husband has only been using the new electric razor for a few weeks but so far seems satisfied with it. I purchased it because of the good reviews it received from Consumer Reports, for the price I think it is excellent.
Rated 4 out of 5 by MAA79 Gets the Job Done
I bought this shaver for a quick and easy use instead of a razor. I like the fact that it holds a charge for weeks and longer without worrying about the battery life depleting, plus you can clean it with running water. It shaves well, not as good as a razor, but gets the job done. I usually don't have to shave again for a few days.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Youngsta After using Norelco products for probably 65 years, this feels like a toy. The materials are inferior and the shave is inferior, as well. I'll give it another week to train my beard to the different heads, but I think my mind is pretty well made up. Sorry, but that's my honest evaluation.
Rated 1 out of 5 by WIGJR Not a good shave
I tried this electric razor and it did not give me as good a shave as my old Remington R9500, so I returned it.

This is my second Remington electric shaver. I was very pleased with the first is the reason I ordered another.
Rated 4 out of 5 by petrusty Bought this shaver for my husband for Father's Day. He was thrilled to get this and enjoys the ease of use and the good shave it gives.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sukhoi Good electric shaver Remington R8150
It is a good shaver, looks great, not to heavy, easy to use and clean. It has good quality from Remington, I like the LCD window, easy to see the time that you have to recharge it again.
Maybe the "bad" thing about this, is that it doesn't have a velocity levels for a faster shave, I don't know maybe I'm some picky, but It would be perfect that Remington make another like this with a special turbo button. Unfortunately in this time in which we live life is very fast and stressed, so all we need to do fast.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Llama Electric - Never as close as a blade
I've been using electric razors for almost 30 years and I've finally reached the conclusion, no matter what the product claims, that no electric will ever shave as close as a blade. Once you come to that realization, it's easier to stop being disappointed. This is a good shaver, does reasonably well on my heavy beard and the battery is strong and durable. To get the closest shave I can, I must use both a rotary and straight electric razors. The two types of cuts compliment each other well enough to give an acceptable finish (rotary does well on the heavy beard while straight razors are better for finishing and trouble spaces like under the nose and chin angles.)
I've been a long time Norelco rotary customer and decided to try Remington in my search for a closer shave. I find the Norelco is more sturdy and a good weight. I think the Remington feels a little too light and flimsy, but has superior power (RPM) for the blades. Neither gives a very close finish shave. For the cost, I find this a good value with decent performance, but I can't judge durability until I've had it for a couple of years or more.
One suggestion is for a spring loaded release for the rotary head cover. It is a little difficult to get open and I usually like to discard my shavings everyday, but I normally skip that now because it takes too long to open up. The spring load also helps eject a lot of the loose clippings before brushing or running under water. Thanks...
Rated 5 out of 5 Good Value for the Buck
I have been shaving with rotary shavers for over 20 years, and was reluctant to change brands. However, when I compared prices I saw that this Remington RB150 would cost me less than half of the cost of replacement when the former one wore out. I am pleased with the Remington and the close shave that it gives me. It is also easy to clean out daily and the battery charge display is very helpful.
The only small complaints I have are that it is louder than I am used to and also does not come with a travel case. Neither is a deal-breaker.
Rated 5 out of 5 by goforit2 Best Whisker Sniper
I'm not a shaver type of guy and stand by using a razor. Circumstances led me to having to use a shaver for awhile and I am happy to say this little machine makes the switch a smooth transition. No pulls, bumps or grinds! Fits nicely in my hand, comfortable weight and keeps the facial forest down even after a few days of growing. You can't go wrong with this whisker sniper!
Rated 2 out of 5 by shodo Disapointed
As the title indicates, I am disappointed in the performance of my R8150.
I was looking forward to receiving the razor as I was told that it had a powerful motor. I don't think so. It's very rough on my beard. The trim cutter doesn't cut. I don't understand, it just doesn't cut, doesn't trim.
The razor doesn't come with a plastic protective cover either. That's remarkably cheap of Remington. Further, you can't just set the razor down on the counter, because the razor then falls on its side or worse, on the cutter head. Again, no protective cover! Your only real choice is to insert it back into its recharger. But then, if you ran hot water over the cutter assembly as per instructions to clean it, the razor is naturally wet and won't dry out unless you keep the cutter assembly open which you can't when you return it to it recharger. I think I should return it and get a better model, or return it and give up on Remington.
Rated 4 out of 5 by LikeaBoss66 Great razor.
Easy to operate and shaves well. Holds it's charge well. No pulling when used daily.
Rated 5 out of 5 by bjr711 An Old Friend
I bought the R8150 for my husband--after 15 years his old Remington Razor finally bit the dust--he was sure the new one wouldn't be as good as his old friend. After one use he was sold on the new technology and the comfortable shave--He loves the longer battery life too! Thanks for making great products that last!
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hairless Great product for the money
Quiet, smooth and holds a very long charge. Very pleased with it.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Paul104 Very comfortable shave
The only reason I did not give this shaver an excellent rating was that I have only had it for a few weeks and can not assess it's long term durability yet. Otherwise, the shave is very close, comfortable and amazingly quiet. I like that you can charge it with a cord and do not need to attach the shaver to the charging stand or bring it with you on trips. It is also very simple to clean as the housing holding the shaving heads easily pops up.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Turboz This product replaced a well used and old Remington shaver. I feel this one is better made than the last. Only thing I do not like is that it does not have a cover to protect the shaver head like the old one did. I know I did not pay as much for the last one so thats why I gave it only a good value opposed to excellent. It may seem like a small thing, but for $60 bucks they could include a cover.
Rated 5 out of 5 by RoPi6 R8150 Shaver
Shaves close to blade quality, no pulling, easy and comfortable to use. Shaves well down to the bottom of charge. Recharge is quick. Trim blade works well. No problems so far.
Rated 4 out of 5 by sadfasdf33 Terrific cut, better than Norelco any day
I had a Norelco about 12 years ago and loved it. After 5 years, it was time to replace it, and I bought another Norelco, next to the top of the line model. It was garbage! So I tried a Remington, and it was much better. A nice big head, could get the job done quicker. It was time for a new razor, and I like to stick with companies who don't try to cheapen their products to make more money off me like Norelco did, so I stayed with Remington. I did some research, this one was a good value for the money.
I got it, it cuts BEAUTIFULLY. I'm impressed! The pivot head sounds and feels cheap and clunky, but in the end, the razor does its job very well.
