The year is 2025. Tokyo has fallen and the world cries out for a hero. It cries for Zebraman. The Queen has stolen Zebraman's powers and instituted Zebra Time: ten horrifying minutes each day when murder is legal! Without his super strength, Zebraman is just a guy with a mane - a broken-down hero unable to stop the onslaught of evil. Discretion advised.Takashi Miike is one of the best, and most insane, Auteur directors in Japan. His films run the gambit of various genres; Horror, Period, Action, and, in this case, Parody.A sequal to his incredible film, Zebraman, Zebraman 2 ramps up the Action and Drama without ever losing the darkly comedic edge that made the first film so good. Set over a decade after the first film, Zebraman 2 finds its title character, the superhero Zebraman, suffering amnesia in Zebra City, a Police State where, for ten minutes, police can murder freely and crimes go unpunished. Zebraman must regain his powers, his memories and overcome his opposite number, Zebra Queen, before the alien menace from the first film can be reborn.Zebraman 2 is a great sequal to a great film. While the first film asked "what it would be like to suddenly become a Superhero?" Zebraman 2 asks "What is the purpose of a hero after the world is saved?"
