To accomplish her goal, she has put everyone and everything else on the backburner. But when a mysterious woman (Faye Dunaway) uses a bit of magic to help Claudia realize what she's been missing, she gets a serious dose of reality. Transported into a life unlike her own - complete with a husband, kids and a mini-van - she must cope with her new responsibilities. "I'll Be Home for Christmas": What the community of St. Nicholas, Iowa lacks in size, it makes up for in enthusiasm. So when the mayor and local veterinarian, Sarah (Ann Jillian), reveals that a doctor is needed to keep the area hospital open, the town jumps at the chance to fill the position. The top candidate is hometown hero Mike (Robert Hays), the widower son of a local man (Jack Palance), who is a practicing surgeon in the city. St. Nicholas welcomes Mike and his daughter with open arms when they visit for Christmas, but moving back to town permanently is more complicated than it seems. Since losing his wife, Mike has struggled in his profession and his love life... both of which he must confront if he returns to St. Nicholas for good. "Borrowed Hearts": Sam Field (Eric McCormack,), a single, powerful businessman is about to close the biggest deal of his career with industrialist Javier Del Campo (Hector Elizondo), a self-proclaimed family man. Problem is, Sam prefers freedom to fatherhood. To impress Javier during his holiday visit, Sam convinces single mom Kathleen (Roma Downey) and her daughter, Zoey, to pose as his family for cash Kathleen desperately needs. "Music of the Heart": A single mother with little more than talent and the determination to make a difference, Roberta Guaspari (Meryl Streep) overcame the skepticism of everyone who didn't think she should be teaching violin to students in a tough inner-city neighborhood. But even after a decade of ever-growing popularity and countless success stories, Roberta and her kids must rise to meet an even greater challenge: budget cuts aimed at shutting down her valuable program for good! "A Christmas Without Snow": It's Christmastime in San Francisco, but you wouldn't know it by the looks of the snowless city. Zoe Jensen (Michael Learned), a recently divorced mother, has just moved to the Bay area with her child, hoping to make a fresh start. In order to meet people and jumpstart her new life, Zoe joins a local church choir, which is headed up by a cantankerous choirmaster, Ephraim Adams (John Houseman). Almost immediately, the two butt heads. But as the story of Zoe unfolds, so too do the stories of Ephraim, the choirmaster; as well as some of the other choir members. As Christmas approaches, an upcoming performance of Handel's Messiah looms, and Zoe finds herself caving under the pressure of her new life. Also includes "A Child's Christmas in Wales".
