About this item
"Boccaccio '70": Four complete segments, each directed by a master filmmaker and starring an extraordinary cast of international stars - "Renzo & Luciana", directed by Mario Monicelli was cut to shorten the film for its international release and it's shown here for the first time ever in America. "The Temptation of Doctor Antonio" directed by Federico Fellini and starring Anita Ekberg, enlightened by a dreamy humoristic touch, it's considered by many to be the best of Fellini's work ever! "The Job", directed by Luchino Visconti stars Romy Schneider and future genre icon Tomas Milian. A witty contemplation of marriage with an attention to details was the trademark of Visconti's incomparable style. Finally, "The Raffle", and earthy comic romp directed by Vittorio De Sica and starring Sophia Loren as a woman who causes all sorts of problems for herself when she offers her favors as the prize in a lottery. "Casanova '70": Marcello Mastroianni portrays the handsome lover Casanova pitted against a thoroughly modern woman in this classic film from two-time Academy Award(R) Nominated writer/director Mario Monicelli. "Casanova" is a legendary hero often depicted in movies, but this time he is portrayed with a slightly different problem - the only time he's "in the mood" is when he feels that he is in danger. His job as NATO officer offers plenty of opportunity for his sexual arousal problems to be assuaged. "Story Of A Love Affair": From acclaimed two-time Academy Award(R) Nominated director Michaelangelo Antonioni! Paola (Lucia Bose) is the beautiful and jealously-guarded younger wife of a shady factory owner, Enrico Fontana (Massimo Girotti). In order to investigate her romantic history he hires a private detective, which ironically brings Paola back into contact with former lover Guido, with whom she resurrects a lost passion. Dogged by the suspicions of their respective mates, they are drawn closer to each other in the face of adversity, and begin to plot Enrico's demise. But when the challenge of being together falls away, will the passion start to wane.
