Strap this on to you car and go airborne!

Holy cow this thing moves a LOT of air!! On it's lowest setting I felt like this thing was going to blow me off of my couch! No joke! On the highest setting I swear you could strap this to your honda and go airborne! While I watched this thing rev up, the sound reminded me of the noise old world war II fighter planes make. It is a screamer! I first used this fan on a sunny day and I couldn't believe how much "stuff" was flying around in the air after turning this on. We set it up in the hallway aimed upstairs to blow the cooler air up, and heard a bunch of noises. We turned the light on and found it blew half of the pictures off of the wall in the stairway! On a positive note, I used it the following day to dry a wall I painted while the wife was out and not only did it dry the wall quickly, it aired out the room so well my wife hadn't realized I had even painted! If you need some serious air-moving power, by all means, pick this bad boy up - the price is right. Just be forewarned, this fan means business and there is no "true" low setting!

Great Fan

Last summer my shop bought a big, skinny 200 dollar warehouse fan from Lowe's and for the same price I bought five of these fans, especially when 2 of these equal the same output as that 1 fan. I brought out the fans last week and they still work perfectly. This fan is cheaper here than in any other store I looked in an online. Despite the fact that it is all metal I did not expect it to be as powerful as it was based on its size and price, boy was I WRONG. If the price will be the same as when I bought them, i'm planning to definately buy 5 if not 10 more fans. Unless I can convice my company to flip the bill, thus saving money(both I and them-from buying elsewhere) and helping there employees; I will encourage both them and my co-workers to have them buy 15 to 20 fans. My usage-choice for this product is based on a spring to fall bases, depending on the temperature in my shop, which can exceed 100 degrees in mid-summer.

Powerful Fan

I was looking for a fan when the one that I had quit working. After looking at several I decided to purchase this fan . I admit that I was expecting this to work just like the one that I had. BUT when I got it home and turned it on I was very pleased. It works better than the one that I had. I think that this was meant for a garage or like place because of the noise of the motor. If you do not mind the noise then this is the fan for you. I use this in my living room cause there is no place to put a window air conditioner. This fan keeps the entire room cool & I just use it on low. The all metal Construction of the unit is great. I am so pleased with the operation of this fan that I will never buy another plastic fan. Every one who experiences this fan at my house now owns the same fan . So yes I would recommend this fan and I have. It is well worth the cost.

Fan blows 20mph at low speed (strong wind) excelle

Fan blows 20 mph at low speed. 20 mph is a comfortable breeze. The fan blades are an aluminum and metal alloy blend for strength and flexibility. The aluminum decreases the overall weight of the fan blades thereby increasing the speed of the blade revolutions and inevitably the velocity of air flow. In the fan's lowest air speed, the air moves efficiently. I use the medium and high speeds to move smoke out of the kitchen (let's let that go for now) or to increase the air flow through the front and back doors of the house during summer; the result is a constant convection cooling effect in all areas of the house (700 sq ft single story). The fan has two hooks on the rear for wrapping the cord. The weight of the fan is about 8 lbs and is distributed equally to make lifting, carrying, and storing in high places "easier." The fan's metal housing allows the maximum amount of air to come in contact with the blades. The fan functions as advertised by manufacturer.

I have 4 Lasko's Tower heaters for the winter and they are Excellent products, so I thought to buy these Air Tower models to cool my home for the summer. Boy, was I wrong! My review is simple; SORRY, DO NOT WASTE MONEY BUYING ANY TOWER FANS PERIOD! The Unparalleled truth is that ONLY a Powermax High Velocity Fan, 20" (this model or larger/higher velocity) will cool your space. Over the years, I have bought or use nearly all of the Tower fans and they were complete disappointments. Do not believe the "good" reviews, THEY ARE ALL WRONG! Tower models just resend the hot or warm air back into your area, no relief! ANY HIGH VELOCITY or INDUSTRIAL GRADE HIGH VELOCITY FAN WILL ACTUALLY COOL THE AIR! Admittedly, some can be pricey, but they're worth it! Think about it, there's a reason why Foundries, Smelteries, Warehouses, Schools, Government buildings and workplaces utilized ONLY High Velocity fans to keep their spaces cool! Next time you're in one of these buildings, look around to see what the COMPANIES THEMSELVES are using!

  • A. They are metal, sturdy, I thin I recall from packaging- & I certainly assume they are indeed Stainless Steel (but am not absolutely certain).

  • A. they are metal, not plastic, but may be heavy-duty aluminum. I'm not sure. I do know the ones on my fan have held up to months of constant use. I hope this helps.

  • A. I don't know, but it's much less the previous brands sold at Walmart. I've had six other 20" fans of this cost from Walmart and this one moves much less air with more noise. The motor also seems much weaker, noisier, and mine was also very out of balance. I suggest you try another brand even if it does cost more.

  • A. Sorry, checked the box markings, the instruction brochure and the unit and there is no CFM labeling. Its a 20", 60v, 3speed, 110 degree pivot point stand unit, that uses a grounded power plug, but there is no additional information on this model. Good Luck!

  • A. My previous answer has not been approved yet, but I wanted to update with the CFM rating on this fan. Found this info on the powermax chinese web site: 5936 CFM @ 1480RPM (on high) 1.36 Amps 164 watts And it seems that might be underrated. I have a Lasko Wind Machine 20", which is rated for 4780 CFM (on high), and this fan, ON LOW, produces better airflow. I read somewhere that these use Generation 3 blades, which may be more efficient than the plastic blades on the Wind Machine. This really is a great fan for the money. I will probably buy 1 or 2 more for my Florida garage.

  • A. I just got this fan today. There does not appear to be any CFM labeling on the packaging, but I can give you an idea. Plugged in, in the kitchen (to test it out), I can angle it upwards, stand a good 8-10 feet away, and still feel a 20-25mph breeze coming from this thing... ON LOW! It really is a great fan for the money, and my local wal-mart had it FIVE DOLLARS cheaper than listed online.
