  • A. I depends what you want it to do. As I stated in my review, I bought my to prevent my laptop from overheating and shutting down, to that end, it has worked very well! It is powered by your standard USB port and I would assume your Chromebook is equipped with those. I'm not familiar with the size of the Chromebook, but the pad is a decent size so I would imagine it shouldn't be a problem. I recommend it if you're experiencing overheating problems and you don't have the time to get it fixed.

  • A. Its not meant for lap use. Surface is not flat at bottom and will not be comfortable to use in lap. Its also very bulky. Fan sucks air from bottom only. It will be easily covered in lap turning it practically useless.

  • A. Ok like others I contacted Walmart about returning my Onn Laptop Fann. I was told due to it being 2 months old I had to contact the manufacturer. Due to the small cost of this I decided to take it apart. IT'S NOT THE CABLE. The port into which the cable plugs was lose. There was not enough solder around the 3 wires holding it in. It took several attempts at resoldering the wires and I finally succeeded. It now works. I also duct taped the cable to the bottom of the unit to prevent further tension. Only unplug from the computer and leave it plugged to the fan. This should help keep this from happening again for some time.

Customer has been confirmed to have purchased the item from Walmart.

I have only had this Onn laptop cooling pad for about 3 weeks, so I can not testify to it's long lasting quality, however I can tell you that it does work and the single fan blade in the center of the pad does indeed keep my laptop cool. It is a little smaller than I thought but I am able to place my laptop on it and it will not slide up or down or side to side due to 2 rubber pads on the bottom of both corners of the cooling pad. It was not expensive at all and for the money I am most satisfied. Of course I could spend more money and get a larger cooling pad with more features, but I am more than satisfied with my purchase.

I have a 17.5" laptop. Which since I use it a lot has started to overheat a bit. Checked everything processor and other sorts of possible problem. But it still ran good except for after extended use. So I figured I needed a cooling pad. Looked at a few of them on the Walmart website and saw a few I wanted. I know some people think people don't read reviews online, but I do. Since the one I wanted was not available in my location I without really looking at options took this one since it was in budget. Took it home and it worked great for less than a month. Started hearing a grinding noise at first thought it might be because my clothes got in the way. After checking into it, I remembered that I was also hearing the grinding noise on my flat laptop lap desk. Since the fan in the middle is somewhat exposed things can get caught in it or in my case if it's setting on something and you start typing the laptop moves down and the fan starts grinding. Now my laptop is having the same over heating issues and I have to go out and get another one.

I really like this laptop cooler. It only has one fan, but it is a huge one and it sufficiently keeps my laptop cooled. It's lightweight, fits in my laptop bag and is whisper quiet. Was easy to plug up and use. All this at a GREAT price! Highly Recommend!

I had actually purchased a Belkin cooling pad before I decided to get this one. I initially went with that model because it was a name brand, and it looked like it would be more comfortable to sit with on my lap if I needed to do. While it was comfortable, the thing was LOUD. Really really loud. It completely drowned out anything you'd attempt to do with the computer, so I took it back. I perused through the selection at my store. There were a few Targus ones, and another Belkin, and this "Onn" brand which I had never heard of before. It looked basic, but it promised a quiet fan so I bought it. I have been nothing but impressed. The cooling pad does it job very effectively, while maintaining a very low sound output. There is a nob on the side which can adjust the speed at which the fan goes, which I think is a cool little feature. The laptop itself sits atop the pad quite nicely. The pad is a slight angle which makes for more ergonomic typing, and there are two rubber bars at the bottom that are there to prevent sliding. The one gripe I have with this is the comfort. Having it sit on your lap could be a better comfort experience. The back bar kind of digs into your leg, and the underbelly of the pad itself is just a shell of plastic. I bought this primarily to sit on a desk though, so it isn't the hugest deal, and, the pad is only minorly uncomfortable - definitely not something that compromises the effectiveness of the pad. Overall, it's a great buy. I'd give it 5 stars, but it needs a tiny amount of work in the comfort department.

Efficient fan, on/off switch and fan speed is adjustable (nice touch). The elevated and tilted design is keyboard-comfortable. Design overall was better that Targus and allowed for greater airflow underneath. Haven't heard the fan on my laptop come on once tonight and no more CPU spikes to 100% thank God, as my laptop struggled to cool itself before. I've checked the underside of the laptop a few times and it's been very cool. As I said, Quiet. The Belkin I had before was so loud I had to use external speakers..lol. The only caveat is that there doesn't seem to be a warranty, at least nothing I could find in the little 4-page user booklet. IT appeared to be mfg'd for Walmart (UPC) so clerk said it was at least 90 days. But for $14 I don't think I'm going to worry. So far so good :)

Simple light-weight hard plastic design with quiet fan. Hope it lasts...even still just having a place for the heat to escape underneath my mac mini & macbook pro keeps them both much cooler, overall especially for the price, can't go wrong!

Well, this obviously isn't a top of the line cooling pad, but it definitely did what I wanted it to do for a fairly cheap price. My laptop only has slight overheating over several hours of gameplay while overclocking the CPU and GPU, so I didn't need anything super-cooling, but this fan helped alleviate some slight stuttering I was getting from a bit of overheating. The on/off is nice, and the LED pointing to the side was great after having my last cooling pad blast it directly into my eyes. There's a fan speed control, but I always keep it on max since power isn't a huge issue as I'm always plugged in on my laptop when gaming. The only qualms I have is that the cooling pad is at a slight slant, and I have to work for a bit to get the laptop to sit on it optimally so it doesn't slid or go out of place. Anyway, if you want a relatively cheap option for minimal overheating, this works just fine.

This Onn laptop cooling pad is economical and works well. It is quiet and I like the fact that you can leave the unit's power switch in the on position and it still only comes on when the laptop is on.

I'm using this on the notoriously hot-running HP Pavilion TX2000 notebook with the fan speed kept at maximum. Using CPUID hardware monitor software, it was showing a peak temp of 82 degrees Celsius under moderate CPU load without the cooling pad. With the Onn cooling pad, it tops out at 50 degrees Celsius. 32 degrees is a HUGE difference, considering the reports I've read only typically note a CPU temp difference of a few degrees using a cooling pad. My particular CPU is rated at a maximum temp of 95, and 82 was too close for comfort, in my opinion. 50 is a LOT better! A couple of things to note: 1) Performance will vary depending on your notebook model because of the difference in cooling vent placement on the notebook and casing material. On the HP Pavilion TX2000, this cooling pad works extremely well. 2) Have the notebook on the pad before you boot it up rather than putting it there later. A CPU that's hot is harder to cool than a CPU that's cool in the first place.
