So if you are looking for a way to diaper your baby and want to do it affordably then this diaper is definitely for you. It is easy to use and saves money over disposables! If you are looking for a way to build up your cloth diaper stash then this is also a good option for you. It has worked well for my daughter. I use them occasionally when I have been lazy on cleaning her other cloth diapers. I definitely would recommend using this diaper to a friend. Try out cloth diapering...you may be surprised at how easy it is and how much nicer it is for your baby. (NO DIAPER RASH!!!)

I purchased two of these trial packs about two months ago after the birth of my second child. I was skeptical about my success with cloth diapering but the price of these made it not too financially risky if it didn't work out. I LOVE them! The prefolds are extremely thick and make super "fluffy butt" but are very absorbent. I use them at mainly at night and have not had any leaking issues. The cover works wonderfully as well. It is thin but I use it heavily in rotation with a few other covers and have had no issues. I prefer the thinner material to other covers I have because it dries much faster. I purchased other prefolds from the Cotton Babies website that I use with Econobum covers. I use baby washcloths from Walmart with water as baby wipes and have not had diaper rash issues since switching. If I had one recommendation to moms it would be to try cloth diapering! I'm loving the money we are saving, lack of diaper rash, and HUGE reduction in landfill waste!!

I've used several types of cloth diapers. I think this is a great system for the cost. Pros: Very economical, love the 100% unbleached cotton as it seems healthier on my baby's bottom, wrap is very easy to adjust to fit my baby as he has grown, very easy to take care of. Cons: Doesn't work well on my toddler, but I haven't tried to use 2 or 3 diapers in the wrap instead of one, as my toddler gets cranky if his cloth diaper is too bulky, have had occasional problems with leaking.

Very happy with these diapers. I have been using them on my now eight week-old (approx 10 lbs) for a few weeks. The prefolds are very soft and absorbent. I wash them with homemade detergent and any lingering stains sun out easily. The covers are thin but not flimsy, and they hang dry quickly. A drawstring wetbag was included; I would prefer a zippered wetbag but this one works fine in my diaper bag for now. With a little research and practice I have figured out alternative methods of folding the prefold that work better than simply folding it into thirds and laying it in the cover. I always pin the prefold; it keeps the diaper secure and helps it fit better. The included prefolds are my choice for overnight. During the day I use flat diapers purchased separately under the Econobum covers as they are a little more trim. I also use the prefolds under my baby's head when he is lying down to protect his sheets from spit up. I am so much happier with these than I was with the pocket diapers I used on my last baby. Definitely recommend!

I was thinking about buying a few packs of these and then buying some gerber prefolds to use to stretch my washing time to a couple days instead of every day.

    • A. Yes you can use other prefolds, but I would skip out on the gerber prefolds. They are really thin, not that absorbent, and work better as burp rags.

    • A. Yes other prefolds work in these. I really don't recommend the gerber prefolds. It takes like 3 of those to equal the absorbency of 1 econobum prefold.

    • A. That's good idea Rachel! I actually incorporate my gerber prefolds with this system as well! I just prefered the unbleached cotton because it seemed more absorbent due to the thickness of the fabric, but I use them both and they work fine!

    • A. They work, but not as well as the prefolds that come with the package since the material is made of much thicker stuff. I have a YouTube review up on it titled Econobum Cloth Diaper Review by Master of Mom™ if you want to go check it out. The diaper itself is really very nice.

    • A. Dont waste your money on the gerber prefolds, they will soak right through the first time your baby goes potty. good for burp rags only

    • A. It really depends on the babies age. But for a newborn at least 3 covers and 12 prefolds are recommended per day.

    • A. you want to change every 2-3 hours... you would get about 1/3-1/2 as many covers as you have diapers

    • A. You will need a dozen prefolds per day. All covers are different. If you have one that can be wiped clean then you don't need as many. I would suggest having at least 3 covers per day. Also, I would suggest washing every other day, not ever three days. At the very least, 24 prefolds and 6 covers (ones that can be wiped clean and washed every couple days).

    • A. You probably want a minimum of 24 prefolds. Think 8-10 diapers a day for newborn. Less for older baby. You can get away with just a handful of cover because unless they get dirty with number 2 on them they can be used over and over.

    • A. If you are using just this product alone, might want 4-6 sets. Gerber sells the prefolds for a lot less but as you can see, it is the cover that makes it all work.
