This Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game is the cutest and most unique game I have seen in a long. Can't say enough goods things about it...but I'll try. First, it comes in the most adorable box I have ever seen. It is a game of strategy for ages 3+ needing 2-4 players. It has also earned the Parent's Choice Silver Honor...which is very impressive. My Granddaughter and I had loads of fun playing this cute little game....she is six years old and absolutely loved it. This great game comes very highly recommended. Also, a thank you to Walmart.com for the excellent service.

Amazing Game...To Cute!!

This comes packaged in a very sturdy tree shaped box that is also used as a game board. It is a favorite game amongst the preschool-aged children I care for. The 3 and 5 year old were able to teach the 2 year old fairly easily how to play the game. Taking turns is not easy, and it was definitely a skill that was learned through this game. They learned matching and counting skills by collecting the correct number or the specific color acorn to the spot on the cute little tree stump. They also develop fine motor skills by spinning the spinner and picking up the acorn with the fun "squirrel squeezer" (their favorite!). Sometimes they have to skip a turn which also helps them develop good sportsmanship. We love this game. I think It would make a good gift for either boy or girl between the ages of 3-7

I received this toy and was very pleasantly surprised!! First of all, the box that the game comes in is very cute and VERY sturdy! I've purchased other games and found that the boxes can tend to be a little flimsy but not this one! I'm a pediatric occupational therapist so I played this with a couple of my pre school kids and they LOVED it! The concept is easy to grasp and understand, the games pieces are also very well made and easy to use. Fine motor coordination is such an important skill to have especially pre school children who are starting to write so I LOVED the "squirrel squeezer"!! It is a plastic squirrel fashioned into a pair of tweezers and requires the player to pick up their "acorn" and place on their game piece. What a great way to have children utilize and increase this skill and also have a BLAST doing it! I really like this game and plan to use it often!!

Very well made toy!!

This game is for 3yrs and up / toodlers. The game is set up with brightly colored acorns that are placed inside the game box top. The box top is decorated with a tree full of acorns as well as those that have already fallen to the ground. A cute brown squirrel is included for the child to use in picking up acorns. The squirrel is designed so that with a squeeze, it will open up ( like a clothes pin ) so the acorn (s) can be picked up easily. The acorn is then moved to the tree log. The tree log has the same colors as the acorns do. The log has a small hole so that the acorns can be kept in place until the game is won. With these features I have mentioned, a toodler will be learning to match the colors one to another ( from the ground to the tree log ) for safe keeping. It exercises the toodler's hand and eye coordination. Placing the acorn in the tree log also requires the same type motor skills. It is not easy at first but can be learned quickly. The player is not penalized if it takes several times to set the acorn in the tree hole. I think that the squirrel spinner would be the toughest part to understand. That again can be mastered quickly after a few games. To me, the actual spinning of the wheel is difficult. The toodler will have to learn to flick his / her finger to get a good spin of the arrow. This will take practice that I feel will not come easy to the toodler ( at first ).
This game teaches that there are certain rules that must be followed whether, the toodler likes it or not. Taking turns will be experienced as well. Then of course, the toodler will learn that there will be one winner. Learning to be a good sport and just have fun is more important than winning. Hard to learn but is a reality.
I would recommend this game to a friend. It is just down right cute and will be fun for everyone. I am sure that toodlers by this age have seen squirrels and how fast they can move. If one has oak trees the acorns are also there for playing with as well as watching the squirrel ( from afar ) pick one up and nibble on it. Sometimes the squirrel just runs away taking the acorn back to his hiding place. It is learning many skills while just having fun.
