    • A. it's got a pretty good pop but i wouldn't say really loud. don't use the PBA ammo it will crack like a .22 very loud.

    • A. You can buy "Tar" for the mainspring to quiet it down some, but the best thing is the nitro piston they offer. The cheapest nitro gun is ~$150 and worth it imo, otherwise you need to send your gun in and pay $100 to have one installed (they won't let you do it yourself). The noise level is amazing! Day and night difference, and they're silky smooth in comparison. I went with the Benjamin Titan for on sale for $130, best thing for the money I think I've ever spent, no joke. If it was twice that I'd still buy it. The crozman nitro venom and Benji titan are the same except for the stock, and the Benji stock is way better (imo). It's also easier to hold while kocking it

    • A. It's not nearly as loud as a .22, but it's not as quiet as a BB gun, either.

    • A. Somewhat loud. An occasional shot every couple of days won't be of concern but a shooting session in your backyard will have the cops at your house faster than you can say "breach of peace".

    • A. The gun isn't very loud with lead pellets. The high speed lead free pellets make an impressive crack. They do break the sound barrier.

    • A. Its relatively loud. If you use alloy/non-lead pellets it will be even louder, because the pellet will go supersonic.

    • A. I would have to say yes, it is loud. I also have close neighbors and I do not shoot this gun in the backyard for that reason. It looks and sounds more like a 22 rifle than a pellet gun. It is especially loud when new, and will quiet down a bit after you've fired a few dozen rounds.

    • A. It definitely is loud with light-weight pellets. I have intentionally been using heavy weight pellets (10.5 gr Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum) to avoid the excess noise.

    • A. This gun is not too loud. I shoot it in my backyard day or night. It's hard to exactly decipher the loudness but it's not quiet but not too loud either. Hope this some what helps.

    • A. It is rifled. All the spring guns like this are rifled. The only smooth barreled guns you're likely to find are BB or pellet/BB guns like CO2 pistols, Daisy Red Ryder, and some pump guns. This is an excellent gun btw, well worth the $

    • A. Not sure but I measured mine and initial effort after the detent is 3lbs. At 1/2 way thru travel it's 9lbs. With the barrel at 90 degrees to the body it's 16lbs. And the peak pressure just before latching is 21lbs. Not bad at all and you'll probably not find another gun that's easier without going down to a power level that he's not going to be happy about.

Ive got too many air guns this one was the least expensive but its my favorite .177 springer after well over 25000 pellets I mean thats only 50 tins of 500 and I shoot daily the spring broke. Having these problems with other frequently seasoned ,used guns I pandered buying another but wanted to keep thiis one so I contacted crosman customer support at crosman .com and got a new mainspring delivered for around $15.00 yup $15.00 and now shes ready for many more shots, This is a smooth well made chinese rifle the more ya shoot it the beter it gets if I didnt know better Id think she was made in the usa but she is made by u.s specifications and a real good gun .still shoots over 800 fps with 8 gr pellets accurate and kills whatever varmit she sees. I doubt anyone else will shoot that many rounds so shes a keeper

Purchased this gun and installed a Bushnell 4 x 32 Multi-X Rimfire Scope, Black Matte #762243 for $29.27 also from Walmart this scope came with rings and fit perfect on the gun weighing only 10oz with easy installation, I torqued the base knobs to 20 inch lbs and the ring screws to 20 inch lbs. Also purchased the Gamo PBA Raptor Power Pellets 100 pack for $11.97 these pellets are gold plated and give you an increase FPS of around 25% more which should put you at 1600 FPS, not sure because I haven't put it on a chronograph it yet. It will consistently pop a dime at 60 ft with plenty of power. (Trigger is adjustable I set to 2.5 lbs) Total of $129.37 including tax all purchased from Walmart free shipping to your store Gun $84.80 Scope $31.88 Pellets $12.69

I had no idea the power the Crosman Phantom 1000 can produce, it can hold quarter size groups @ 25 yds. I'm using a Simmons 3x9x32 rifle scope, not rated for a spring piston pellet gun, not sure if it can hold up to the re-coil . I had to purchase spring piston air rifle scope mounts, the re-coil would eventually make the scope slide completely out of the dove tail grooves .

I put a Bushnell 8X scope on it with mounts I had from a Beeman pellet gun I previously owned (wood stock broke in half). This rifle is much better quality and accuracy is very good. Most of the birds I shoot are around 30 yards out. Great power, and with the scope I can drill nails with it. Very pleased with this product.

I bought two cheaper ones and they both broke... This site sold those cheaper ones and they were fair and took em back and returned my money. I bought this one and it feels and weighs like a real rifle. I can shoot at targets from my from yard to my back yard.. 3/4's an acre and the pellet hits the back fence like a donkey kick. My goal is to scare away Squirrels going in my attic and it works... the thump and bang of that pellet against any tree or roof tile sends them running. I could easily put one of em down with one shot but I am trying not to do that. The sight is deathly accurate. Its designed well and looks like a 22 rifle.. if you stepped out your front door holding this people might think you have a much more threatening self defense weapon. Actually this weapon would help you defend yourself even though that's not what its intended for. I like the power, the accuracy and the safety features this rifle has. And it looks good also.
