About this item
In the timeless tradition of Winged Migration and Koyaanisqatsi, the theatrical phenomenon "Rivers And Tides" depicts the magical relationship between art and nature while painting a visually intoxicating portrait of famed artist Andy Goldsworthy. Gorgeously shot and masterfully edited, the film follows the bohemian free spirit Goldsworthy all over the world as he demonstrates and opens up about his unique creative process. Goldsworthy's painstakingly intricate masterpieces are made entirely of materials found in Mother Nature - who threatens and often succeeds in destroying his artwork, sometimes before it is even finished. "Rivers And Tides" serenely captures Goldsworthy in the midst of constructing his trademark ephemera on-camera, and in this stunning Blu-ray edition, already dazzling visuals have been heightened by the high-definition transfer from the film's original negative, overseen by director Thomas Riedelsheimer.
45-minute Interview: Award-winning director Thomas Riedelsheimer discusses his experiences over the year of filming with Goldsworthy, Photo Gallery.
7 Short Films Including: "Storm King Wall", "Leaf Horn" and "Ice Arch"; Bonus Film "Snowballs in Summer" Featuring thirteen giant snowballs placed on the streets of London, left to melt in the heat of the longest day to reveal surprise packages inside.
