THIS is how Lord of the Rings should be viewed!!! This is the definitive Lord of the Rings set. Not only do you get the Extended Editions of all three movies but you get the original documentaries that came with the DVD releases PLUS the rare documentaries that were in the LOTR Limited Edition set that contained both the theatrical and extended. First and foremost you are ONLY getting the Extended Edition of the films in this set, and that is perfectly fine considering the theatrical editions were already released on Blu Ray.The picture is simply stunning and gorgeous. The colors are vibrant and crisp. I even have noticed some improvements in the scenes when it came to colors. All three movies are in stunning 1080p with 6.1 surround sound support and they sound BEAUTIFUL on a home theatre system. There is over 24 hours worth of documentaries and features included in this set. As stated above the original appendices make a comeback as well as the rare footage that was included in the Limited Edition DVD release.If you are an avid Lord of the Rings fan or want to see the most definitive version of the trilogy then this is the set that I recommend. Listen all of you Lord of The Rings fans. The new Blu-Ray set is a must have for all fans. The depth and beauty of Tolkiens books are transferred to the screen magnificently.
