Item Description

The GMC Denali 700c Men's Road Bike is built around a lightweight aluminum road bicycle frame. As its name suggests, it is meant for typical road usage, such as plain commuting or racing. It features a slim wheel and a smooth tire that reduces the friction between the road and the tire. This GMC Denali 21-Speed Road Bike is equipped with alloy calipers and brake levers to make stopping smooth and precise. The rims of the X-Large GMC Denali 700c Road Bike are made of high-profile alloy Vitesse and perform as good as they look. A better aerodynamic position is possible with the lower hand position. Shimano Revo shifters allow you to shift without taking your hands off the handle bars, providing safety and confidence. A Shimano derailleur completes the road cycle drive train for quick and smooth gear changes. This GMC Denali 21-Speed Road Bike is a good entry level bike and is well worth the price.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.1 out of 5★by 192reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5★by I was looking for a fairly cheap road bike to commute into work that fit my tall frame (I'm 6'3"). This was the right bike for the right price. Since I had the bike shipped to my house, I had to assemble some of the parts. Setting up the derailer/gear shifting was the trickiest part of the assembly. You may want to get an assembled bike from the store if that scares you at all or take it into your local bike shop.As for the name? Denali. Oh GMC - what a funny little joke...naming a bike after your luxury SUV.Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. 07/27/2011
Rated 2 out of 5★by A hole in the pavement you throw money into... I have had a lot of bikes the past 4 years. This is the worst bike I have had in a while. I bought it trying to save money and get a good road bike. Well, when I first got it out of the box, the back wheel was bent slightly. So, I took a back tire off of an old bike I had that was straight. I figured I would give it a chance and just call customer service later about the bent back tire. ( they do give you a 1 year warranty for the parts with this bike) Well, I got the bike put together correctly. (took A LOT of tweaking here and there) The first problem I found with this bike is that the brakes first of all are hardly worthy of the name. I could be biking on a flat surface and jam the breaks down as hard as I could and I would still keep on moving. So I tightened the wire and put on some brand new brakes. That helped a little. NEXT, the Shimano gear shifters. This is what really broke the deal on this bike. I figured if the shifters were “Shimano” they would be of some quality BUT I was sadly mistaken. The gears would only properly work in 1st, 3rd, and 6th. I kept on tweaking the shifter cable but I just couldn’t get it to hold. The shifter was pretty much all plastic. I decided to give the bike one last chance. I took it on a 20 mile bike ride. If I wanted to cruise the whole ride in 6th the whole ride I would be fine but what happens if you have to go up a hill? Have to change into a lower gear and then the chain gets stuck or keeps on skipping around. Super frustrating when cars are whizzing past you. All in all, this is a super cheapo bike. Now, the bike DOES look pretty sweet for sure. I really wanted this to be a good bike but it’s just garbage. ALSO, the maker of this bike is the Kent Bicycle company. Remember the bent rim I told you about? Yeah, I called them to see if I could get it replaced because of the 1 year warranty on parts. They said that they were “out of parts”. What good is a warranty if they don’t have any parts to give you? ALSO, I emailed them trying to get in touch for another back tire. Yeah, still haven’t gotten an email back. Kent Bikes and their customer service are less than average. Like I said, this bike really does look good, BUT it just isn’t worth it. Sorry. 09/03/2012
Rated 4 out of 5★by GREAT BIKE! GREAT PRICE! Oh did I say GREAT BIKE?! After shopping for about a month for a road bike, I settled on the 25' Denali (black). My brother in law has been riding for a couple years doing several bike runs and I thought I would like to try it after dropping 55lbs. First, I am 6'2" with a 33" inseam, 240lbs. The bike fits me perfectly. Picked up bike at Walmart pickup counter and box was in perfect condition. I purchased the all-in-one bike tool kit that I would carry in the under seat bag and realized it had all the tools necessary to assemble. The only wrench size that it didn't have was for the pedal installation which I had anyway. Bike was packed nice and tight. Anyone with any common sense could put it together in less than a half hour which I did. I will be taking it to a bike pro to get it tuned up nonetheless. This bike looks expensive and feels solid. Riding position is excellent. Brakes are not great but will suffice till you feel like changing them. The handle bar shifter took a little getting used to but shifts smooth. I'm sure with time I will make some upgrades but if you are looking for a first bike that is easy on the wallet, purchase it now. 06/02/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★by A lot of bike for a small price This bike is fast....light weight....and very responsive! It can do what a bike ten times more epensive does. The bike arrived w/o a scratch and I was on the bike path in minutes....just a few bolts to turn, air up the tires, and adjust the front brakes and I was riding! Thanks to Walmart.com for a true bargain at $159 bucAbout 6'6"-185-195 lbs.Past bikes owned: Raleigh..Schwinn Paramount..fully campped out Trek. 11/19/2011
Rated 4 out of 5★by Good value for the money, but be careful! Bike was delivered quickly, but bike was marked 70C X 25". 29" bike was what was ordered. Customer service agreed to take it back and to send another one.New one came in and it too was labelled: 70C X 25". Customer service stopped order and agreed to take it back.Upon further research (of large bike's web page), discovered that the frame for the LARGE bike is 22.5" This one is XL and must be 25". Explanation should be somewhere on the website for the different size bikes and who they are designed for. Also found out that my 33" inseam is just enough clearance for this bike.It is a good bike and a fast ride. Larger drive gears and large wheels make this a lot faster than my 26" mountain bike. Also tires work well on roads/paths. 04/20/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★by Great Road bike for Beginner The value speaks for it's self, go price just about any road bike and I'm sure it's more expensive than this steal. I was very impressed with how fast the bike arrived at my house with no shipping cost at all. I put the bike together in about 15 mins, back tire is already mounted all you need to put on is the handle bars, pedals, front tire and reflectors if you use them. I have always been a mountain bike rider, this is my first road bike and I am very impressed. I don't think I will ever go back to a mountain bike after purchasing this road bike. I am a very satisfied customer. 07/25/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★by Great tall bike for the price This bike is great for the price. I had it in about a week and had my local bike shop put it together. The bike rides great and is great for tall people like me (6'6#. The only complaint I have is that the handle bars on the bike are too low if you have the seat all the way up. This causes extreme back pain because of the angle of your back especially with a backpack on #I'm in college) The stem on the handle bars isnt very long so I had to pay the bike shop for a stem extender and also to make the wires longer to reach the handle bar at its new height. All in all it was about $45 to get it done. After that was done, my back was at a way better angle and I was able to access the breaks easier. Other than that, no complaints on this bike so far. 05/10/2012
Rated 3 out of 5★by Think twice before you go for it In store purchases from walmart are always amazing. However,If you are ordering a bike from the walmart website, think twice.I used the same GMC denali bike which I got from the walmart store but after it got stolen,I thought Ill try new colours for the same cycle.Until you place your order, you never know the cycle would be semi-assembled.If u dont have the proper tools,It makes your work even more difficult. Not to forget, the front tyre keeps wobbling, the gear adjustments would cost you some more bucks, the chain sometimes gets stuck and jammed only if u just give it a small reverse pedel. The handlebars need to be fixed and since i did not have the tools,I had a pretty hard time carrying the cycle in one hand n d handle bars in the other, walking down 3 miles till a local bike shop, who charged me 40 dollars for the cycle tuneup.Bottomline:Buy cycles fully assembled from the walmart store.Think twice if u choose getting it shipped to your house. 11/27/2013
