Book Information

The following content was provided by the publisher.

Ex-CIA and Special Ops, Joe Hunter made a lot of enemies during his covert career--but none worse than the powerful man he left for dead in South America. Now, seven years later, someone with Hunter's face has embarked on a horrific killing spree in Florida. Suddenly, people closely connected to the former military operative-turned-problem solver are dying--and when two cops who stop him for questioning are taken out by a sniper's bullets, Hunter finds himself on the run from the legitimate author-ities . . . and a killer's vengeance.

With nowhere to hide except in the coldblooded mercenary world of wetwork specialists, Hunter knows he faces a blood storm unlike any he's encountered before--one that will force him to confront the damning shadows of his past as he fights, tooth and nail, for survival . . . and payback.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5★ by 1reviewer.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Looks like another great Joe Hunter thriller. I'm just getting into the Joe Hunter thriller series by another British auther, Matt Hilton. I'm a huge fan of the five first-person narrative POV Jack Reacher thriller novels from the other British thriller author, Lee Child. Joe Hunter seems cut from similar cloth...although he sounds a bit more merecenary possibly than Jack Reacher. Matt has Joe serve as the narrator for the stories...but when he digs into the mind of the bad guy, he switches to third person. I don't mind that, as long as it's for no more than a chapter at a time. (Prefer first person POV over third person.)Interestingly, though both Matt Hilton and Lee Child are English, Lee lives stateside in New York and Jack Reacher seems definitely American, whereas Matt lives in England. And, tough guy that Joe Hunter is, he still sports an English accent. (I already picture the great British actor Jason Statham playing Joe. Or...possibly even Clive Owen in his "Shoot 'Em Up" mode.) I've just dug into "Judgment And Wrath" and am liking it so far.I'm reviewing "Cut And Run" because the book arrived with damage to the cover. I was a bit disappointed about that. (The cover appears...cut.) The Site To Store process was otherwise very simple and easy to use as always and I appreciated that the books got to my store when the website said they would arrive. And I also got Slash And Burn, I believe the third book in the Joe Hunter series. Both of the other books were in pristine condition (they're all the tall paperback versions). Plus...was able to get three novels for around $25. Hard to beat that unless you're shopping in one of the value book bins that show up sometimes in the stores. 12/03/2012
