Rated 5 out of 5★ by good geek stuff poor documentation is not required for excellent performance. color me stunned. 12/17/2011
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Good product with slightly soft video This unit is easy to install and setup. I used it on a security DVR and all 8 subscreens were clear enough for watching, but not as sharp as the original VGA picture had been. Sure beats buying a new DVR. 10/27/2011

Rated 1 out of 5★ by Worked great for 2 days, then green channel died I was initially quite impressed with the picture quality I obtained when I used this to display satellite receiver output through an old CRT monitor. However, after 2-3 days' use, the picture suddenly developed a strong reddish-purple (magenta) cast that no amount of tweaking (using either the controls on the converter or those on the monitor) could fix. (BTW, the documentation that comes with the converter is minimal--one small pamphlet covers both this item and their VGA-to-video converter--and barely intelligible broken English. The user has to figure out the use of the on-screen menus mostly by guess and by golly. OTOH the manufacturer supplies a complete set of cables for hookup, including S-video, composite video, and VGA.) At first I thought the green electron gun had died in the old monitor, but after trying the same converter with several monitors and seeing the same problem, though they all worked fine when connected to the VGA output of a computer, I realized the problem was in the converter. I had bought it it site-to-store, and my local WalMart gave me a cash refund. Now I have to decide whether to buy another unit and hope it works better (and wait another two weeks for it to arrive). 10/29/2011
