I use this item to store strips of fabric I've pre-cut for nap mat assembly. It works perfectly and I'm ordering more. Several yards of fabric can be stored and it's lightweight, easy to use and assembles in about 10 minutes (with a tac hammer) http://www.janiebee.com

When someone tripped and fell, smashing our previous rack, we needed to find a replacement to fit in the tight space where it is stored. Finally found this one listing similar measurements on box. Got home & checked these reviews before opening box. Some reviews called it junk so I was concerned. My husband and I read all reviews noting advice on assembly. We worked together using a rubber mallet and assembly was fairly easy. One dowel was a bit stubborn but not impossible. The dowels are a little thinner than in the old rack but are still sturdy enough for regular clothing and most towels. Less shaky and tighter than the rack it replaces. The old rack had two dowels stretching between the latch rails and spaced so that long items (jeans) could descend without hitting other rails. Too bad this rack didn't come with them. Using two unbroken dowels from previous rack and flat head screws we installed our own. Enclosed directions indicated rack is made in USA by Madison Mills. Super! Good price, too. We are very satisfied. And it fits perfectly in its storage spot.

I purchased this rack for the purpose of drying our cloth diapers. I had to use a rubber mallet to get the dowels to fit in snuggly and it was a bit of a challenge, but once I got it all put together it's been great for our needs. I use this to sun dry our cloth diapers every other day and haven't had any problems with it.

We needed this for Cloth Diapers. And it works great for us.. it seems a little wobbley at times, but we can hang out our CDs and if the weathers nice we carry it onto the porch, and if its not so nice or turns bad, we just carry it in. We used wood glue where the poles are inserted, just as a suggestion from a friend.

this thing is probably the worst thing I have ever bought. One of the crossbars snapped when I first tried to put it together....then, when I finally got it standing, it collapsed when I hung one wet bathing suit on it....its just a bunch of sticks...I would have done better to build one with lincoln logs.

What you will need: Hammer Some type of lubricant A knife Flat hard surface. 30 minutes. Yeah, this rack isn't the best, but you get what you pay for. I've broken one of these already, but it was partly my fault, and I was able to return it and get a new one. (I snapped one of the dowels). You need a flat surface, (i.e. counter, cement floor) to hammer the dowels in the holes. If you hammer them in on a rug or anything like that, your guaranteed to break the rack. Once you find a flat, hard surface, you then need to shave off a little of the wood at the end of each dowel. It seems counterproductive, but it really pays off in the end. Don't shave off a lot, but just enough so a good hammer sends the dowel through the hole. Then I would apply some lubricating oil (i.e. 3 in 1) to the hinges. ***Make sure you read the directions on the inside of the rack. The hook piece needs to be in-between the first and second pole. If you follow these simple steps, you are good to go. Seriously. The prep work is key. It's worth it, if you're looking for something cheap. deuce$

For a low-cost drying rack, I'm happy with this one. It's easy to assemble, but I would recommend watching the instructional video found at www.madisonmill.com to cut down on any confusion. I didn't need hammer to assemble it, although the heel of my palm was a tad sore when I was done. So a hammer probably would have been easier on me. The rack is sturdy enough for standard laundry. I would not recommend it for a heavy quilt or comforter. The product is fine, given the price and the main purpose of it.

The dowels/rods are all wooden..and I had a real tough time to put them into the holes. I had to use the hammer..and while using that, the rods were about to break..so that was a big risk. It does server the purpose...but would not recommend. If this was made of plastic..it may have been nicer.

I was skeptical because of all the a"negative" reviews about this drying rack,I AM GLAD I DIDN'T LISTEN! This is the EASIEST thing I have ever done to save money! I have a 10 month old and holds ALL her clothing (socks, onsies, jeans, you name it!) and the dry fairly quickly! I also use this for BIG towels,My husband and my clothing, blankets EVERYTHING! Our light bill has gone down to HALF of what it was: BIG SELLING POINT: IT PAYS FOR ITSELF THE FIRST MONTH PLUS SOME! This thing has NO ASSEMBLY... use it right out of the box! If you position the clothing right you should have NO PROBLEM drying A LOT of clothes on this thing.I am buying another one while they still have it for such a cheap price! I also line dry but this saves me from going outside! Imagine how much MONEY you can save and go green! I LOVE THIS THING! I AM MAD BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW THEY STILL MADE THESE! :) Buy it .......... you won't regret it!
