This is one of the more pricey bikes (I payed $300) but it is worth every penny! I use this bike for more of the downhill riding. Which it works great for! And the front suspension is awesome! I have never bottomed out on them. The disk brakes can still stop under immense pressure! The trigger shifters are amazing, the bike shifts faster and easier than any other bike I have ridden! And with 24 gears it is great in the lower gears for the steep uphill climbing, and the higher gears for speed on steep downhills. And most importantly, it looks way nice!! So all and all, this a great purchase! P.S. When you ride the bike around a little at the store, make sure everything is tuned properly!! Sometimes the bikes haven't been assembled correctly. So just talk to someone in sporting goods and they can easily fix the problem. (I had the brakes tighted, and the derailler shifted to perfection) Really hopes this helps!!

This bike is awesome! I just got it about 3 weeks ago and for now only use it for road riding as excercise (cardio), but this bike has good potential for small bike trails (entry levels per say), the price was really good, for the full suspension, f/b disc brakes (CRAZY), the front shocks are ridiculiosly good, breaking is top notch as well, bike comes mostly assembled only had to mount the handle bars, seat, pedals and front tire but I took bike to have the front tire mounted profesionally to not mess up the front disc and brake pads.... So far I love it, the seat is a dissapointment as it feals like riding on a trunk of tree so I will be replacing with a wider gel cushoned seat, but believe it or not the kick stand is amazingly huge and strong, I usually remove them but this one is staying on for good.... All in all GREAT BIKE will update review later down the line as the rides become more frequent...

I bought this bike at my local Walmart for $108.00 with tax included! What a great deal!!!! The bike has all the quality of a medium line Trek for a fracton of the cost. The bike rides great and at $300.00 in store and $250.00 online it's a great buy! A Trek with everthing this bike has will set you back about $1500.00 .I looked At Trek website and the bike's had the same front SRS shock's and same Atlus derailer on some of the model's and they were in the $600.00 to $750.00 range and they had no middle shock and did not have front and back disc brakes. This is a good deal for a casual biker.

My wife took over my 10 year old 24 speed aluminum mountain bike, so to compensate me, she bought me this one for Father's Day. She was tired of trying to keep up on her 21 speed aluminum mountain bike, so when she realized that the 24 speed gearing increases the top end, there was no going back! This bike feels a bit wider and longer than my previous one, but talk about SMOOTH! The shocks had to be tightened to keep the bike from bowing every time I pedaled. One gear does not shift exactly, but I can work around that until I need a tune up . The gear shift triggers are something new for me, but work well. The brakes work well, and are supposed to work even wet (disc vs.rubber). I removed a lot of the stickers and it looks much cleaner and I think better. I like the fact that the spokes and wheels are black and not chrome. The tires are not as knobby as the old one I had, but I think that helps the smooth factor. The tires tubes did not hold air well after a couple days, so I put some "slime" stuff in the inner tubes and they seem to stay pumped up now. Overall, I think it is a great bike for the money. I plan to ride it every day, except when the ground is snow or ice covered, like I did the old one. Wish I could have picked it up for a cool one hundred like another reviewer did, but oh well.

Im in my mid fortys. When I was in my early twenties I purchased 2 aluminum bikes at a Trek dealership. While each bike cost me around $800 each there were both good bikes. They were hard tails. I added front suspension and that brought the price of each bike up to around $1100.00 each. Back then any bike with dual suspension and aluminum with rock shoks was no less then $5000.00 !!! By the way if you wanted disc brakes back and front, then that would set you back about $12-15000,00!!! 15 years later a aluminum frame, dual suspension, front and rear disc brakes, 24 speed, good looks for only $300.00????? First what got me to buy this bike were the looks, then the features, then the price. I was going to buy the $398.00 black model on line at first. However some wierd message online that if I picked the store where too deliver, they would not assemble it. I then decided to just buy what was there in stock at my nearest Walmart. I will say I was skeptical at first and I kept the reciepts in case I was going to return it. It's walmart so as long as you have the reciept all should be fine to return. Once I got on the bike I was amazed on how the bike felt. Its been about 17 years since I rode my aluminum bikes. Im sure Im about 50 lbs heavier also by now compared to back then. It took me the first 30 seconds riding to realize I had to relearn to stabilize the bike well just on the sidewalk as I rode. After about 1 minute I got unto my neighborhood street and I began realizing how really nice this bike is. My first feelings were speed and take off. Per pedal stroke the bike accelerated awesome. Pick-up was perfect. I began wondering if my prior mountain bikes costing me 3 times the amount ever felt this good? I don't think they did in fairness. The jarring thru my arms with the slight knobby tires the bike came with were minimal. I plan on buying road tires probably armadillo types with puncture proof slime for long wear and ride. This bike I cannot begin to impress on you what it felt like and for only $300.00!!! REI sells bikes that feel this good but to get these features you need about $3000.00 to ride one and call it yours. I rather buy these Mongoose brands ( which by the way has been making mountain bikes for a long time now ) if I should ever need another. If I could give it 10 stars I would. A good purchase is only measured by how often you use an item. This is so fun I plan on riding it daily as long as I can pedal. Slowly upgrading the groupo around the frame piece by piece. Awesome deal!!!!!
