About this item

Star Wars Complete Saga includes Episodes I-VI, Star Wars Documentaries, deleted extended and alternate scenes; prop, maquette and costume turnarounds; matte paintings and concept art; supplementary interviews with cast and crew; and more

"Episode I: The Phantom Menace." Witness the first historic meeting between young Anakin Skywalker and Ben "Obi-Wan" Kenobi, the young Jedi Knight who comes to be his mentor for a time. The film explores the beginning of the legend as the Empire begins to take shape amidst a galaxy in turmoil. "Episode II: Attack of the Clones." Anakin Skywalker has grown into an accomplished Jedi apprentice, and he faces his most difficult challenge yet as he must choose between his Jedi duty and forbidden love. Relive the adventure the way it was meant to be seen in spectacular digital clarity, including the climactic Clone War battle and Jedi Master Yoda in the ultimate lightsaber duel. "Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith". Torn between loyalty to his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the seductive powers of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker ultimately turns his back on the Jedi, thus completing his journey to the dark side and his transformation into Darth Vader. "Star Wars: A New Hope": A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... The Jedi Knights have been exterminated and the Empire rules the galaxy with an iron fist. A small group of Rebels have dared to fight back by stealing the secret plans to the Empire's mightiest weapon, the Death Star battle station. The Emperor's most trusted servant, Darth Vader, must find the plans, and locate the hidden Rebel base. Princess Leia, a captive Rebel leader, sends out a distress signal that is intercepted by a simple farm boy, Luke Skywalker. Seizing his destiny, Luke takes up the challenge to rescue the princess and help the Rebellion overthrow the Empire, along with such unforgettable allies as the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi, the cocky Han Solo, the loyal Chewbacca, and the droids R2-D2 and C-3P0. "The Empire Strikes Back": After a devastating attack on their ice base on the frozen planet of Hoth, the Rebels are scattered by Imperial pursuit. Luke Skywalker seeks out the mysterious Jedi Master Yoda in the swamps of Dagobah, while Han Solo and Princess Leia outrun the Imperial fleet on the beautiful Cloud City of Bespin. In an attempt to convert Luke to the dark side, the evil Darth Vader lures young Skywalker into a trap. In the midst of a fierce lightsaber duel with the Sith Lord, Luke faces a terrible truth about the Skywalker legacy. "Return of the Jedi": In the spectacular final chapter of the "Star Wars" saga, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia must travel to Tatooine to free Han Solo by infiltrating the wretched stronghold of Jabba the Hutt, the galaxy's most loathsome gangster. The Galactic Civil War culminates in the ultimate showdown, as the Rebel forces gather to attack the seemingly defenseless and incomplete second Death Star in the battle that will determine the fate of the galaxy.

This is the most complete and comprehensive Star Wars package ever. For you die hard Star Wars Fans this contains so much more than the movies. The "Lost Anchorhead Footage" and many other never before seen clips are there too. It will take a long time to go through everything here but I just received my package and tore it open to see if it had the extra bonus material and couldn't get enough of it. Can't wait to watch the movies but want to go though and see these extra scenes.

Whether or not you agree with all the tinkering George has done to the original Star Wars films, this is, hands down, the best they've ever looked and sounded. I agree some of the changes to the originals are less than spectacular. Han definitely shot first. No that's not Luke's father in the end of Jedi. But what's the point in complaining, because it's never going to change unless George suddenly wakes up to reality. The bottom line on the blu ray release is this: George and his team have painstakingly cleaned and restored the original film prints and (brilliantly) remixed the audio tracks. You have to give them credit. This is by far the BEST these films have ever, and probably will ever look and sound. I'm blown away.

  • Not extended, the deleted/extended scenes are on 2 of the 3 bonus features discs. If you're asking about theatrical verison or Lucas' updated versions, it's the latter, he's even changed some things with the new trilogy. Still definetely worth the $, amazing collection especially with the bonus features.

  • No extended version of films. They are now just in Blu-ray quality. There are 3 bonus discs full of documentaries, behind the scenes and other cool features that any Star Wars fan will definitely enjoy.

  • There are deleted scenes, 90 minutes of spoofs, and 40 hours of behind the scene footage. There are 9 discs total in this pack, 3 of them are special feature discs.
    by Hanyouchris

  • No. They are the originals, with the typical George Lucas tinkering. There are deleted (some unfinished) scenes in the special features. The blu rays look and sound AMAZING though!

  • No they are not extended versions. The same as the previous films but with added tweaks here and there. There are a lot of deleted scenes but they are separate from the movie on different discs.

  • Yes and no, There are a few changes from the previous versions from 4 of the 6 films (episodes 2 and 3 aren't changed). This release is NOT considered to be extended versions of the saga, it is considered, by Lucasfilm anyway, to be the "true" versions. Many fans aren't very happy that they keep changing things everytime the films are released.

Why is it 90 bucks to get all 6 when the two trilogies are 40 each? That makes no sense to me. Are there extra features in the saga bundle the trilogies don't have?
by chriscmu
  • it comes with a couple of additional disks with behind scenes stuff & other interviews of many of the actors, directors, etc... not having the original 2 trilogies, not sure if these were included in those originally.
    by Roy911
Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
  • 3 discs of bonus features where if you buy the trilogies seperately you only get 3 discs for the movies. The extra $10 is worth it for the hours of extra footage and documentaries
    by stryker2538

  • According to the complete saga it has bonus discs with hours of extra features. 2 full bonus discs. We have never owned the trilogies so I couldnt tell you for sure, being as how we bought it like this. But thats the major difference I would say. The usual with any.

  • Yes, the box set does feature exclusive bonus features. If I'm not mistaken, the separate trilogies have no bonus features other than commentary tracks (maybe). So the extra five or ten bucks gets you THREE extra discs with hours of great material.

  • the saga bundle comes with three bonus discs, one with bonus from episodes 1-3, one with bonus from episodes 4-6 and a third with documentaries and spoofs.

  • The only special feratures contained in the seperate box sets are the commentary audio tracks. The complete saga set has 3 disks of extras. Documentaries, deleted scenes and such. Advertised at over 40 hrs of content between the 3 disks.

  • The price has been reduced this week to $80. But the reason it was more for the full set is because there are 3 extra discs in the full set that are not available in the separate 3 movie sets.

  • Yes, the complete set comes with 30+ hours of extra features and deleted scenes. I have a feeling the single trilogy sets do not have all of this. The whole saga is a nine disc set.

  • They are NOT included in the movies. They are part of a special features on one of the supplemental discs of the set. The full saga set has 9 discs whereas the separate trilogy sets only have 3 each. For specific disc breakdown, you can go to amazon.com and look at the details.
