Rated 5 out of 5★ by Best feeder available. Seems like I've tried em all and this Perky Pet Grand Master is the best of the bunch (not perfect, but as good as it gets). My only complaint is that there aren't bigger feeders available as even with these 48 oz feeders, I still need to refill them every day (and I use 2:1 nectar rather than 4:1 to lessen the number of feedings each hummer has to make to get the necessary calories). With several hundred strong hummer flock, I need 6-8 feeders and I go thru about 700 lbs sugar a year. This feeder is far and away the easiest to clean and fill of any of the feeders I've owned - you can get your hand inside both the base and the top acrylic part for easy cleaning. A small brush to wipe the corners is all that is needed. And a clean feeder (and unspoiled nectar) is far and away the most important thing you need...To get the "perfect" feeder, I'd like to see more feeding ports (I've modified other feeders to handle 12 hummers at a time, but due to the special feeding ports and lack of continuous perch on this model it's not possible on this feeder). As for those who want glass container, it would be too heavy for a feeder with 48 oz capacity. And I prefer acrylic anyway - far more durable when you inevitably drop one... 06/25/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by The Red Coloring is UNNECESSARY I love this hummingbird feeder. I use to have to fill the one on my front porch 2 times a day because it only held 24 oz. My husband had to pitch in if I was gone for awhile during day. However, I wish Perky Pet and every other maker of hummingbird feeders would quit picturing the feeders with red colored nectar.Who only knows what that red dye will do to the hummingbirds in years to come. The red on the feeder itself is enough red to attract a hummingbird. They will come into your garage just for the red handle on a garage door - which you should also paint a different color. That is all the red it takes to attract a hummingbird.Thank you for reading this. 08/23/2009
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Not well designed. I bought three of these feeders three weeks ago. Two of them constantly leak from beneath. I have tried a liquid sealer on the bottom all around the base. They still leak just not as bad. They really need to go back and redesign these feeders and make the bottom seal better. From hanging in the sun it causes the plastic to separate enough to cause constant dripping which in turn brings the ants in force. I would not purchase another one. I am sticking with the glass 32 oz. 07/24/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by A "Hum-Dinger" The birds LOVE this feeder. I have eight assorted feeders / styles hanging off my deck, right outside of my kitchen window. This summer am hosting my largest colony ever, thanks to this GREAT feeder. Often, there will be six birds attempting to use this feeder at once! Apparently, the spacing of the flower openings and perches is comfortable for males and females. It holds an amazing amount of juice (which my flock empties every other day!). It assembled easily, it is easy to fill, and mine does not spill at all. This is a wonderful design and the best addition to my collection. 08/10/2010
Rated 3 out of 5★ by Hummingbird Feeders these are great feeders because they are large and open mouthed, making them very easy to clean. However, they do not ship well from any source and arrive broken everytime. I have ordered these from numerous places and the clear acrylic cylinder breaks at the edges every time. Sometimes the feeder will not work properly and other times it is ok to use. But the expense of returning is not worth the aggrivation. 06/27/2011
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Leaky After I put the feeder together, which was pretty easy, I filled it with the nectar. As soon as I tipped it right side up to hang it, the nectar started leaking out all over the place. The seals obvioulsy don't work. 04/08/2010
Rated 2 out of 5★ by Good product if it didn't leak. Great concept for feeding numerous humming birds such as I've had this year. However the feeder developed a slow leak in the base and the sugar water attracts ants and bees. If the base hadn't developed a slow leak I would have rated the feeder higher. 10/18/2007
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Be careful. The feeder has to be assembled, which is okay. The top red portion holding the hanger is the only piece already in place. I assembled the parts (a bit difficult with arthritis), then had to carefully trim excess plastic from the bottom of the clear tube before it would fit into the lower portion. I filled the feeder, hung it, and had hummingbirds using it immediately. Ten minutes later, I looked again and it was on the ground. Turns out the top portion screws on, and was not tight when it arrived, so the unit separated and let the tube and bottom portion fall to the ground, cracking the tube. It's now unusable because it leaks from the crack. 07/20/2013
