I am successfully streaming NetFlix thru a BluRay player, but the ethernet cable I have is too short to reach without moving BluRay player. I need a 50' cable. Will this one handle streaming video & gaming?

    • A. Yes. If possible, see if you can replace ALL of your CAT 5's out to CAT 6. You will notice a slight improvement in quality and performance.

    • A. Yes. I am using to hookup my tv, bluray and a/v receiver thru a gigabit switch. Works great. Using a gigabit port router with cat 5e or cat 6 cable works well. Internet provider is supplying a 12 Mbps line. Hope this helps

    • A. cat 5 E -RJ45 is the basic ethernet cable designed to go from your wireless or wired dsn modem to one, two or three desktop or laptop computers . cat 5e is the cable and rj45 are the two male connectors ,one at each end. this is sometimes refered to as a ethernet patch cable. theCAT5E-RJ45 IS LIMITED to a maximum run of 25 meters, a 100 mbps thruput and a band width of 100 mega hertz. what this means is that the cat 5e is only 14 decibels above the failure benchmark while the cat 6 -RJ 45 IS 23 DECIBELS ABOVE BENCHMARK FAILURE POINT. the cat 6 rj45 because of 9 db less signal attenuation, the cat 6 can be used in runs of up to 50 meters. cat 6 throughput is also 100 mega bits per second but the bandwidth increases from 100 mega hertz per second to 250 mhps which makes for better video streaming. BOTH CAT-6 AND CAT-6A ARE FULLY BACKWARDS COMPATABLE WITH CAT-5E cat 5 e is mostly obsolete but still used because it is cheaper. the twisted pairs of wires (4 OF them) are not twisted tight enough (a loose & sloppy twist) to stop radio frequency interference (noise) from entering the cat 5 e cable. I know from experience, my speakers pick up a thum, thum, thum, thum and i have to turn my modem and the ethernet cable so that the noise goes away, like turning your transister radio, IC chip radio nowdays, around so that ia does not recieve the radio signal. the cat 6 cable is more tightly twisted inside and less prone to rf (radio frequency)interferance. for the $6.00 increase in price, well worth it . NOW, THE CAT 6-A is the top of the line cable and sells for only $1.00 or $2.00 more than the cat 6. CAT 6 A is extremely tightly twisted and some may even be shielded against RF interferance and because of really low signal attenuation is suitable for lengths of 100 meters and here is the hot news ,THROUGHPUT GOES UP TO AN AMAZING 10 GIGA BITS PER SECOND and bandwidth goes up to 500 mega hertz per second. In conclusion .dont buy cat5e unless your out of cigerettes and dont know where your next beer is comming from. do buy cat 6 for most people this will do just fine. buy cat 6-A if you have a high end computer or distance over 50 meters up to 100 meters. if you need to go more than 300 ft, special solid strand cables are available for extra $. If you look forward to the next generation of faster computers buy CAT 6 A and you will be up to snuff.

I'm generally on the Net daily. Uploading and downloading use to be a big deal; however since I've switched my CAT 5's out and upgraded to CAT 6, I have noticed a slightly different increase in transfer rate (speeds) within my network. The NET will give you what you pay for. If you have the latest gear but your service provider is ONLY allowing you to clock your UL/DL speeds as they are, according to your $$.$$ amount that YOU pay for, well these CAT 6 cables will give you an advantage. It's best to switch out ALL OF YOUR CAT 5'S TO NOTICE A COMPLETE DIFFERENCE. If you are swapping out one at a time, that's cool too. Also, check out your "Speed Test" to see what you are getting in your UL/DL speeds, Before and After the install. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with this product. It meets and exceeds my expectations. The color is Black, Quality Good/Great just as good as the name brands like B**kin and other major labels. Great BANG for the Bucks!!!

The cable is high quality and it works perfectly, as well as any Ethernet cable. I ran it from my modem upstairs in my home to another computer downstairs and used the entire length of the cord to reach my computer. The cord shows no sign of interference, it works as well any shorter length cord. The only thing which I considered doing but chose not to after speaking to an electrician is to run the cord outdoors, along my house from the upstairs to the downstairs. The cord is not built to be exposed to outside elements but I would guess it would work fine for a few years outdoors before the elements effected its performance. If you choose to run this outdoors, plan on replacing it after roughly 5 years. Extreme cold temperatures can effect it but at the price it is selling, it may make more sense to run it outside than to hire an electrician to run it through your home indoors.
