    Don't Waste Your Gas

If you buy this, you will surely be making a trip back to Walmart to return it. It have 12 speeds ranging from high to super mega high. I tried to make some cookie dough in this but the mixer kept jumping over the dough because it couldn't actually mix through it. Didn't need another demo, not for $90. Don't waste your money....or your gas.

Not as bad as I thought

At first I thought this mixer was a nightmare. If your read all of the one star reviews you will see what I mean. I happened across someone who owns this machine, and she told me that if you want the beater to scrape the side of the bowl, you have to turn the mixer over. On the bottom there is a place where you can change the position of the bowl. It takes two seconds and then most of my issues are fixed. I still wish that the bowl turned on a motor rather than with the momentum of the beaters, but now that I can actually mix the sides of the bowl it is much better. So... if you can't take it back, at least it is usable!!!

Not at all what I was wanting

This looks very nice on a counter top, but as far as actually doing the job of mixing, FORGET IT!!! The bowl doesn't spin unless you spin it and everytime I used it I ended up lifting up the beaters and mixing it by hand. Completely defeated the purpose of a stand mixer. Final comment....VERY disappointed!

    • Yes...sometimes it may be slow however mine has turned the bowl. I believe because of the beaters and mix not the mixer. I turn it myself sometimes which may help. It really doesn't need to turn.

    • Yes, but you need to move the bowl holder to the large bowl position. the item comes with the bowl holder in the small bowl position.

    • No, more often than not. I had to do it manually myself with boxed brownies, gooey butter cake (from scratch) and wheat bread. Really annoying.

    • no it doesnt but with the higher speeds it will pick up its own momentum

    • yes, it does turn by itself

    • If you only have dry ingredients in the bowl then the bowl will not turn. Once you add wet ingredients the bowl will start to turn. The force of the batter being pulled into the beaters is what makes the bowl turn. You can put your hand on it to stop it at any time since the turning isn't mechanized.

    • yes but I hate the design because it leaves a ball of dough in the middle unmixed, while all the rest of the dough sticks to the side. I think the beaters need to be positioned differently, or the bowl design is bad

    • Not really but did notice it will turn once it starts mixing on high speeds or did with my cake batters. Still have to scape sides of bowl every now and then but mixes very well.

    • It does not turn by a motor, but by the momentum of the beaters. I occasionally need to give it a boost to get started when mixing thick items, but once it is started, it goes by itself.

    • It spins when the mixer is blending. You can also push it faster or hold it back to help mix ingredients.

I am looking for a mixer that does not lock the bowl in place. Most mixers lock and do not allow you to move the bowl. I like to move the bowl around, in order to ensure that everything is mixed well.
    by an anonymous customer 12/14/2010
    • The mixer has kind of turntable underneath de bowl that permits it to rotate.

    • Oh, the bowl does NOT lock in place completely. You can TURN the bowl, but you cannot MOVE it, only spin it around. That's why I'm returning it, because it doesn't mix all the ingredients it only grabs in the middle or on the sides, depending on which hole you place the bowl in.

    • The bowl does not lock in place, but know that you'll have to spend a lot of time turning it yourself. It rarely turns on its own. To me, that defeats the purpose of getting a stand mixer. If I wanted to turn the bowl myself, I'd use a hand mixer.

    • No, the bowl does not lock into place. However, if you are mixing dough the bowl will wobble and if the dough is stiff the bowl will jump off the turntable. Also, although the beater head locks into place it will fly up if you are mixing stiff dough.
