About the Album

This CD, available only at Walmart, features eight of Country Music's most authentic voices - Eric Church, Randy Houser, Shooter Jennings, Jamey Johnson, Uncle Kracker, Randy Montana, Ashley Ray and Eli Young Band interpret their favorite Skynyrd song, paying homage to its originality while putting their own spin on the classic tune. Just as the original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd knew they had to be different, so these young singers understand that they need to do more than copy a song, even on a tribute album to a band that they hold in the highest esteem. With raging guitar riffs and lyrics that make up the soundtrack of summer, Lynyrd Skynyrd's widespread influence is undeniable.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 8reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by A fitting tribute, an excellent album! What a treat! I've been a longtime Skynyrd fan and to hear their songs given the tribute treatment by these awesome artists is a worthwhile addition to my CD collection. I'll be keeping this on repeat for days to come. 07/20/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by so love this album!!!!! great combination of artists!!! 07/20/2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by great til the last song this is a great cd. i love eric church's smokey voice on curtis loew and every song on the cd, until you get to Ashley Ray's - sweet home Alabama. this ticked me off something fierce, it is not a slow slow song like she sings it. absolutely horrible. There was no other artist that could have done this song better?????? 07/20/2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by good tribute album Being a Skynard fan for years, wasn't sure I would like this. Boy,was I ever wrong! These "new" artists really rocked it out! Biggest drawback? Ashley Ray's rendition of "SWEET HOME ALABAMA." She TOTALLY butchered that song! Ronnie VanZant is probably turning over in his grave! Have the producers never heard of Miranda Lambert? 08/23/2010
