Rated 5 out of 5 by hermies1970 My favorite boot in the Herman Survivors line. With heavy, everyday, and long hour work days you can expect at least 6 months out of this.Ive had more expensive boots that have lasted as long.also less in quality but same price boots that lasted a few weeks to 2 months. The brahma line sold at walmart give you durability but less comfort. So you just cant go wrong.I want to give cudos to another discontinued Herman survivor...The crossfire was an awesome boot wish walmart would make it again. In closeing Big Timber 2 is highly recommended by me.
Rated 5 out of 5 by timberland Well my wife bought me these Herman survivor Big Timber 2 work boots from walmart. At first i was very narrow minded i admit.Ive worn timberland pros for quite awhile, and swore to never waste my money on wally world boots.I spend 10 hr shifts on concrete, and get 9 months out of my pros.At first i thought the hermans were comfortable out of the box(better then my pros)well i figured that would change once the heel collapsed, and the soles fell off in a few weeks.Well time went by ,and the comfort continued(still better then my pros),and the soles began to wear down going into my 7th month. At which time i bought my second pair of timbers. Now 3 months later these big timbers are holding up well, and i have to admit these are my favorite boots.Wish the soles fell off so i wouldnt have to admit to the better half she was correct.I paid 53.00 for my first pair(or should i say my wife),and 56.00 for the second pair.& months for 53.00 is much bettere then 130.00 for 9months out of my Timberland pros.Cudos walmart.
Rated 5 out of 5 by bgtmber2 BIG TIMBER 2 4 life
Awesome boot.....Feels as good as more expensive boots...for 56.00 a great buy.would have to spend at least 90.00 at another store for this quality, look, and comfort.8 months of grinding work still going strong. At least 4 months left before junk pile.14 months at 56.00 = 4.66 a month. Before these had 169.00 chippewas on sale for 149.00 lasted 14 months thats 10.64 a month.Great value ,and super comfortable so i went back bought 3 in reserve.
Rated 1 out of 5 Dont buy for work!
This is one of 5 pairs of "work" boots I have purchased from walmart. Lasted less then a month. The sole split lengthwise on the left sole. Very disapointed.
Rated 4 out of 5 awsome
i have recently recieved a pair of herman surviors II and the size for someone in say 9 1/2 should buy a 9 a ten 1/2 should buy a 10 but the first thing i did was wear them to worek for a break in period of 12 straight hours then another 12 and they were softer and comfortable as i did thi they are insulated verry good i live in south dakota and the insulation even covers the steel toe verry well
i recomend them and will imphatically buy multiple pairs thank you
Rated 5 out of 5 by breaker1970 By far the most comfortable boot ive ever worn. The Breaker being number 2.I use to always buy more expensive Timberland pros ,wolverines or Chippewas until i tried out the herman Survivor Max.My more expensive boots lasted as long as these inexpensive boots.I also wore the Breaker then Walmart discontinued the Max ,and i tried the Big Timber 2 which blows all other boots away. Not a good boot for the money....Its a great boot in general.
Rated 5 out of 5 by harleyguy76 this is a very good boot!!! have had several pair and need new ones but cannot get my size online...why is that...i cant drive to every wal-mart in the us hoping to find a size 13.....sooooo why do they only have small sizes....help please
Rated 3 out of 5 by TLitLikeitis Ok boot
This boot is ok for the short run. The upper holds together much better than the sole. I have now worn the soles out and they are falling apart. Too bad, because the uppers still look like usable footwear. This is after 5 years and several hundred miles.

My husband has a pair of these.Recently he got the boots all muddy and wet on a job he went on and i was trying to dry them for him by blow drying them on the inside when i did this i noticed a green flash of light, i stopped for a minute scratching my head wondering where this light was coming from,i started blow drying them again and again i could see green flashes of light.I showed my husband and neither one of us can figure it out.
Rated 3 out of 5 by alxzdr Soles disintegrated after 5 years in closet
I bought my Herman Survivors from Wal-Mart about six years ago, and used them for about one year. I was very pleased with them, they're comfortable, rugged and durable. Because I'd taken care of my boots they continued to look great five years after I'd stowed them in my closet...until today.
This morning I put the boots on for the first time since 2006, walked about a hundred feet when I noticed the right, then the left sole crumble like flakey pie crust (See attached photos). Luckily I was close to home when it happened. I couldn't believe it. They looked fine when I checked them over the night before.
I going to look around for a different brand. I won't say don't buy these boots. They're decent for the price. Just beware that you'll probably have to buy another set after a year or so regardless how well you care for them.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bigtimber2 Great boots for a tight budget
These are great boots for the money and fit me better than more expensive boots. It would be nice if they were in stock online because they are cheaper online than in the store.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Vdoorkey I work on a offshore oil rig, i work 80 to 100 hours , or more a week. Oh and I also work in Alaska. They are not great winter boot, for alaska, wool socks help. I'm walking on pipe all day long slippery areas, mud, rain, ice. Offshore you can't go down to the nearest store and buy a new pair of boots. You adapt and overcome your problems. They are not 100% water proof but what leather boot is when your standing in water all day for a 2 weeks strait everyday sometimes. These boots have not let me down at all. There light to me, good support for your ankles, has triple stitching and glue on bottom soles ,easy fix. if it comes apart, shoe goo. Only happened once in three years. And it was a small area. I mink oil my stitching, so it won't come apart, wax will work, btw it will stain the leather, only the stitching. Once my beast boot is no more, usually the leather steal toe on the front. from me kicking things. I ll go and buy another boot when my hitch is over.. Keep it up Herman survivor boot company, hard working men need a good boot to work in, while not costing some people a pay check. what I would like to see is a good built, i mean good .chemical resistant, steal toe, slip resistant , water proof, thermal linings work boot. At Walmart, my hands would jump on that boot:)
Rated 5 out of 5 by OldFortBiker Durable Comfortable Boot @ a great price !
I'm a 300 lbs. guy with wide feet. I needed a boot that would support my weight, provide comfort, and be durable. Believe it or not, the Big Timber IIs are my motorcycle riding boots. I bought them 1 1/2 years ago as a cheap quick fix. They've been so comfortable and durable that I haven't bought bike boots. I use waterproof socks when I think it's going to rain. The BT IIs get soaked dry out and keep going. With steel toe, oil slip resistance, and thick abrasion resistant leather uppers, they give me the features of a $400 bike boot at a fraction of the cost. BTW, I stopped to write this review as I was on the Wallyworld site to buy my second pair.

These boots are very comfort right out of the box. I bought my boots about two months ago and I love these boots. After a hard day of work, I normal come home and can't wait to get my work boots off of my feet. I am finding that I am keeping these boots on until I go to bed at night.
Rated 5 out of 5 by ThisGuy12345 Very good boots. I work construction, water proofing basement. I recommend these boots to the hard working men.
Rated 5 out of 5 by sweetstuf Bought these for my son after his apt. building fire & he lost everything. He said he wanted the exact same work boots he had, which was a pair of these Herman Survivors. He said (if only they had survived the fire) but luckily they were replaceable. He said they are tha most comfortable work boots he has ever had on his feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BootGuy Teriffic quality at a terrific price!
These boots fit and look far better than boots with designer labels at a quarter of the price. They arrived within a few days and fit exactly to size. The height of the boot was difficult to find in the lighter color. I would highly recommend these.
