Very easy and quick to adjust. Nice and sturdy. Lowest adjustment is 12". Can't beat the price. Make sure to read your manual on where to place these!

Torin Jacks 3 Ton Jack Stand

Bought these because, well I used to be one of those guys that said. I do not need them. But what changed my opinion on having a set of jack stands in the shop was when I was changing oil last summer. I had a fairly new floor jack that I rolled under my truck, jacked it up and all was good. While I was under the truck removing the oil filter, I could hear this odd creaking noise. Thinking maybe it was the truck frame was bending a little or a wore out mount somewhere making noise under the weight. As I was sliding out from under the truck, so that I could grab the new oil filter to prep and put back in. That newer jack gave out, the seal blew out and I was lucky I was able to get out in time. If I stayed like 2 seconds longer the oil pan would have been on my chest. What I am saying, get a set of jack stands as a backup. New or old jacks are not the safest. If I had these at the time, the truck would have rested on the stand and everything would have been much safer. I bought a new jack since then, but this time I bought a hydraulic scissor jack. I no longer trust the low profile rolling jacks.

Stand height is adjustable from 11.34 to 16.77 inches. Stands do not have separate locking pins, but apparently the pins are not an ANSI requirement. I think these constitute good value at the $25 delivered price.

  • A. no, you must jack the car up with the jack supplied with your car or purchase a hydrolic jack. a jack stand on will hole the car safely in the air so you may go under it.

  • A. They don't actually lift the car. That is what your jack is for. These are for holding your up. So you jack up one side and put a jack stand to hold it there. Then you jack up the other side and put the other jack stand to hold it there. You should be holding up either the back or front of the car. They are great also if you plan on working under your car. Jacks can slip or break. These act as a great backup for re-enforcement. Although these are not the only pre-cautions that should be taken. (Research more if you are working under a car.)

  • A. These are stands only. They do not lift anything, but once the vehicle is lifted, then you can slide these stands into place and they will hold up to 3 tons.

Question: do you need 2 stands to hold up a car or 4 ? One in front and back or side ???? Where do u put them?

  • A. two per side to support. not one each like a lot of people do

  • A. To safely lift ALL 4 wheels off the ground you would need 4 jacks (remember, these come in a pair so you would need x2 orders). Each jack should be located at each of the 4 corners of your vehicle, usually just inside each wheel and on the frame where it sets safely. I would review your owners manual for the vehicle you are trying to lift to ensure you do it safely. Short answer, order two of these and you will get the 4 jack stands you need to completely hold all 4 wheels off the ground.

  • A. depending on what you want to do, if you want to do a brake job you would jack up one side and place the jack stand next to where you attached the jack. you would then lower it on to the jack stand. you would do oneside at a time, or you could puy just the front end up in the air placing 1 jack stand at the front drivers side, and the 2nd jack stand at the passengers front side

  • A. you need 4 to lift the whole car but 2 are usually enough for lifting either the front or rear of car. Only one is needed if only working on one wheel at a time. A safe way is to always have two supports in place when under a car. Jack it up, place a stand under the part to be worked on and...lower jack slowly to place most of weight on the stand. Leave your jack in place as a saftey in case the stand slips. As a rule of thumb more support is better.

  • A. Read your maintenance manual. Ever car can be different. Most will go on the wheel axle or frame. You can warp/break parts of your car if they are placed in an incorrect spot.

  • A. you only need 2 lifts, but you have to put them on the same side. it'll make rotating tires easy, but just to change the oil you can just put them on the front two
